OK, I see people are reading my two sentences as one thought, so let my clarify [and maintain my reputation of sanity]:

"Time to pitch a shutout" is an acknowledgment of the outstanding play of our defense given the reducing number of points allowed each week...and would apply to the next game if it was against an average team, rather than an Indy or NE.

Given that we face NE this week, and that I already commended the defense, I wrote that NE would be a great test (and honestly did not mean to imply that we should or could hold NE to 0 pts- although that would be incredible!)
