Julius had more rushing yards than TIki Barber against this D

but your point still stands, we're not a vaunted D

60 on a busted coverage, 87 on a rookie FS who will get better, and 40 on a flea flicker that Roy should have picked.

And their running game was completely shut down.

Not saying those plays don't count, but they are correctable. ANd outside of them the Eagles really didn't do too much.

I wish the Cowboys had a QB who could throw for 354 yards...actually they probably do but wait he won't get on the field.....

The Eagles cant run

The came into the game as the #7 rushing team with 129 yards/game. Granted against garbage competition, but still.

I'm looking forward to the day we put consistent pressure on the opposing QB and actually get a bunch of sacks like other teams do. McNabb had all day most of the time.

and all of that was because there was no pass rush

Roy or Watkins letting a TE run down the hashmarks uncovered is now the fault of the passrush?

it wasnt like McNabb took one step back and threw the ball 1 or 2 yds to an uncovered guy

no, he had plenty of time to drop back...stand back there...pick his nose, do his toenails and then throw a perfect pass 30-40 yds+ downfield...maybe if they had rushed him he'd have thrown a poor ball...or maybe he wouldnt have had time to see Smith wide open...or maybe even (gulp!!!) he might have got sacked

and other than 4 or 5 plays, McNabb had all day on every drop back

The defense against Jacksonville and the big plays to Philly do concern me. This defense was supposed to be a strength. Bledose can be a little "iffy", so the team needs a D they can count on...

At the same time, if you fix a couple of the big plays that happened today, this defense was very good.

Despite all the "poor competition" we've faced, McNabb had his best game (yardage wise) against a defense that I still consider to be very good.

They sacked McNabb 3 times and made him move around in the pocket several times during the game. Those big plays were blown coverages and McNabb was under pressure on both of them. Even Bledsoe could have made those throws. OK, that isn't true, but the front seven was containing McNabb and also hitting him. The Eagles weren't sustaining drives and just chewing up the defense. They took advantage of mistakes by the safeties. That is what good teams and QBs do. That is something Bledsoe doesn't do enough to be Superbowl winning QB in the NFL.
