354yds Passing by Mcnabb

I don't think it's nearly as bad as it sounds. The big problem is that we gave up 187 yards on 3 passing plays. 60 yards to Smith on a simple blown assignment, something that can be corrected. 87 yards to Baskett on a play where the pass rushers needed to bring McNabb down when they had the chance. And 40 yards on a flee flicker.

Obviously, you can't take those plays away, but probably 100 of those yards are unlikely to happen again or can be easily corrected. Would've been nice if Bledsoe didn't give the Eagles the ball in great field position so often.

i posted this last night- with a decades worth of first round picks invested in it, this defense should be dominant. the fact that we are far from it means the scheme is bad. Zimmer's contract is up, no way he comes back next year.

I blame Zimmer for putting Watkins in those situations. The big score was a corner blitz from Henry leaving Watkins 1 on 1 w/ a double move which are defense always falls for. You could even read Parcells's lips on TV, "we can't do that again" when speaking to Zimmer. The second one was all on Roy, bad angle and great throw, because we had no pressure. Anytime they sent Ware and Ellis, they at the least got McNabb to step up in the pocket and force something. Yeah, are D had a bad day, but I look at our D-line first, because Canty,Spears, and Fergy generated nothing. Beside that we blitzed what once or twice. Our D needs to get more aggressive. There D was aggressive and look what happened to Bledsoe. The couple times we did blitz, under thrown and incomplete. HELLO MCFLY...

60 on a busted coverage, 87 on a rookie FS who will get better, and 40 on a flea flicker that Roy should have picked.

And their running game was completely shut down.

Not saying those plays don't count, but they are correctable. ANd outside of them the Eagles really didn't do too much.

I agree. Those plays killed us too. I give everybody a pass on their mistakes today except for Bledsoe. He's a liability. He made NO plays. Yeah, he ran for a couple but he's a QB. I want you to be able to throw the ball. His mistakes (and he had a boat load of them) were inexcusable:banghead:

When you have two safties who are there soley to protect against the deep ball there are no excuses. If it's an easy fix, why does it keep happening, last years Skins game ring any bells?

Too much talent...too little coaching, in ALL AREAS!

At some point we need to start holding Parcells and his band of merry(yes) men accountable.

The discription of yesterdays offense was no different than when Vinny was here, exept we have much upgraded the talent at the skill posistions, so where's the issue?

Big plays killed us. You know how many passes McNabb completed the entire second half?

Six.

and all of that was because there was no pass rush

I say again - on two of those long passes, Greg Ellis was in McNabb's face. He made great plays to move in the pocket and get the pass off. Runyan actually held ellis on one of them. We had lots of pass rush in this game - including 2 of the 3 long plays.

Maybe we should have taken Merriman and Luis Castillo instead of Ware and Spears. They know how to rush the passer.
