We got half of our picks signed in one day. I'd expect the other six to follow suit fairly quickly, but it's not like they all just accept the first offer the team makes.

It depends on what you mean by "work on contracts."

Jerry and Stephen Jones negotiate the contracts, but they generally have a "contract administrator" and a couple of assistants who help with the paperwork and such.

During "Hard Knocks" last season, wasn't it revealed the Stephen and company don't even begin contract negotiations until a week before camp starts? Also, if memory serves, Felix missed the very first practice of training camp last year because his contract wasn't finished.

There's no reason to think that we won't get the rest of the guys singed in a timely manner.

It's always been the story that the Cowboys don't start any real negotiation on rookie contracts til the week before training camp. So the pattern seems to fit so far. Every so often some player signs in the middle of the first or second day of camp, but that's usually the late point.

Lots of other teams are having problems signing their picks this year because of the instability of the uncapped year and players' contract situation. Just check out how many first rounders have signed so far. I think it is just 4 or 5.

This is not an issue til it hits the middle of the first week in SA camp.
