Charlton Keith DE/OLB - Kansas

He's flying under the radar because he's bounced around a little bit because he's had a hard life. His mother was incarcerated and he had to go live with his high school football coach, and his best friend died in a fight in which he and Keith joined in to help protect another friend. Its too bad he doesn't have just one more year of eligibility left, he could have been special next year. He had 20 TFL's last season. If he would have played in a conference with more than 1 team that passed the ball more than 12 times a game he would have had a lot more sacks. He probably has the best burst off the snap of any player I saw in college football last year. Reminds me of Terrell Suggs in that he didn't run as fast in his 40 that he plays on the field.

Here's a pic of him making a diving into the endzone after making an interception.

Good pull, IR. I also like him based on what I've read:

Minus the hands? I have watched almost every Notre Dame football game that Maurice Stovall ever played in, and he has soft hands and can make acrobatic catches look very routine

virtually every scouting report on him says he drops way too many balls...I havent watched every ND game but I have seen him drop a few...

Stovall's Senior season stats were...60 catches for 1,023 yards (17-yard average) and 11 touchdowns. Not too shabby if you ask me. You are right that he "drops some balls." And that was the big question about Stovall following his Junior year, but all you have to do is look at his stats and you can see he had a great senior year. Any young WR will drop a pass every now and then... We are talking about 3rd round sleepers, and I think Stovall would be a great pick up if he were there.

the stats are nice, but you also have to remember ND threw the ball an awful lot...I like him as a player but he isnt a sure thing by any stretch IMO

this kid is one of the most overrated, overhyped college football players ever...he was terrible last yr...he cant play any positions on the field, and despite being such a great return guy was actually BENCHED from that as well for a time last yr

he is nothing like Cromartie, who was a tremendous CB before blowing out his knee...Cromartie has tremendous physical talent PLUS skill for a position, Hester has no skill for any position

I like Dusty Dvoracek. I think he could be a nice rotational player with Ferguson, or even play some 3-4 DE.

you should have seen the reports on him during the Senior Bowl, him and every WR seemed to develop a case of the dropsies during the week, and it put another nail in the coffin on this WR crop

That would be tremendous backup CB.

Hester is exactly like Cromartie in that neither were good enough to start as college football players but the hype machine has built their draft stock way too high.

but what seperates Cromartie, is that he's shown that he has the instincts for the CB position, whileas Hester is a track-star playing football, and which is why Cromartie is a borderline 1st round pick and Hester is a borderline 1st day pick

Greg Jennings
Brandon Marshall

Both recievers, both would be good picks in the 3rd IMO.

I'm surprised your the first person to mention this guy. He looks like he could be the next TO. He is extremely chiseled, weighs in at 229 lbs, and is 6'4". He ran a 4.55 which is good speed for a guy his size. Unfortunately like TO he has maturity issues. Hopefully Parcells sticks around to mold this guy into a person with stronger character. Then again, he didn't exactly turn Lawrence Taylor into a role model either.

5. Omar Jacobs (QB) Bowling Green- Think Mcnabb. Something like that. Anyways, he would be a first rounder had to chose to stay for his senior year, he is still raw, and would need a season or 2 of being groomed, but thats wat Bledsoe can do, and he is more talented than Romo IMO

I totally agree with you on him. He may not be selected on day one, but that doesn't mean he's not that good, look at Harrington, he was selected top 3. David says that he was awful last year with about 26 tds and 2500 yards despite missing 2 games with a shoulder injury, but his off year was as good as or better than Jay Cutler's best year, yet Cutler is a first rounder. Does that make any sense?

I like:

Demetrius WilliamsHeight: 6-1 3/4 | Weight: 197 | 40-Time: 4.46
Official Bio

Strengths:
Smooth athlete with good quickness...Has pretty good size with long arms and the frame to pack on some pounds...Tremendous leaper with outstanding body control...Is slippery in the open field...Adjusts to the poorly thrown ball well and will make the difficult catch...A major deep threat with great ball skills...Will eat up man coverage...Still improving and seemed to save his best for last in 2005.

Weaknesses:
A bit on the slight side and needs to add some weight...Lacks elite timed speed, although he plays faster when the pads are on...May have trouble beating the jam as a pro...Is not a great route runner and does a lot of his damage running vertical routes...Will drop some catchable balls...Needs to refine his technique and master the nuances of the position...Might still be a little too one-dimensional.

Notes:
Hails from the famed De La Salle (California) high school program...Really helped himself out with a fantastic senior campaign for the Ducks...Might never be a true #1 wide receiver at the pro level but could be an excellent secondary option.

Mike Hass. This guy will be a player. Ignore the measurables, think of guys who nobody thought was good enough or fast enough and have made a good career in the NFL. That is the category Hass will be mentioned in, and in 5 years people will say "Damn! He lasted until the 3rd round?" ;)

Anthony Smith - Safety - Syracuse - not a great "numbers" guy, but a playmaker who knows what he's doing on the football field. Has good, not great size but has a nose for the football and won't make the big mistake to get his team beat.

Given the Marcus Coleman signing and Keithe Davis re-signing, Smith would have a year for "on-the-job" training as well.

I'm a big fan of Smith too. Just a playmaker.

Which is why he is a 3rd round player, what 3rd rounder is EVER a sure thing? if they were thought to be "sure things" they'd be first rounders

IMO this years draft is a little deeper than last years. The value in this draft, is all in the late 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Rounds. I think it would be a good idea to try and get an extra 3rd.

Here's my 3 favorite sleepers.

1. Cedric Griffin (FS/CB) Texas - Fellow Longhorn Michael Huff will be a top 10 pick..... I watched Griffin play quite a bit at UT, there's not that large of gap between him and Huff. Also, former teammate Nathan Vasher was selected in the 5th round of 2004 and Chicago couldn't have made a better choice. Ced got into a little trouble his Sr. year, this is one of the reasons he may still be there in the 3rd. I want Griffin!

2. Devin Hester (DB, PR, KR, WR) Miami - For those who are so high on Cromartie..... this dude's just as good of an athlete and he'll probably be there for the taking in the 3rd. I'd take him! A threat everytime he has the ball and he oozes upside.

3. Rodrique Wright (DT) Texas - I really dont see why Rod is being projected as a late 2nd or early 3rd round prospect. From what I've seen, he'll be a good NFL player. No doubt he'd be a steal in the 3rd!

So who are your 3rd round sleepers?
I'm a longhorn fan and I tend to overlook thier players weaknesses but Rod Wright a sleeper???
I have watched this guy play the last two years and there is really no way you can justify defending him against his detractors.
Wright and Gabe Watson are coach killers.
All the talent in the world but the problem is in between thier ears.
