Let's face it, after the first 2 pre-season games, Dwayne Harris has been nonexistent. Even though T. Williams has yet to play in a pre-season game, do you think that the lack of production by D. Harris has moved T. Williams closer to solidifying the 3rd WR spot for Game 1?

How often has Dwayne been in is what I have been wondering, havent seen him too much and that makes me think they just want a look at the other receivers because they have their top 3 solidified?

This is exactly right. They know what Harris can do. He's the 3rd receiver..........

Beat writers say Beasley has been one of Romo's favorite targets in camp.

based on what you hear from camp and in the games, Beasley is the #3 WR at the moment...but, he would still be option #6 behind Dez, Miles, Jason, hanna/escobar, murray

Aren't they looking for the third wide out to be an outside guy?

- I was expecting a big game from Dwayne Harris but instead, I got it from Cole Beasley. Every time I want to doubt Beasley or question his roster spot on this club, he reminds me of the unique skill set in which he plays with.
The Raiders had no answer in how to deal with his quickness and his route running ability. He was money on third downs and his touchdown in the red zone was also a reminder that despite his height, he can still make plays down there. He is a confident and reliable receiver that when put in the right situations can make those catches when no one else will.
Instead of thinking about all the things he can't do like play consistently on the outside and by the way, he is getting better at that, we need to concentrate on what he does well and that is the reason he will be in this wide receiver mix. If he can give you something in the return game its a plus but there has to be packages that Bill Callahan can do to get him the ball because he has proven he can make plays.

If healthy Williams is easily the number 3. He will play on the outside with Miles in the slot.

Harris barely played. They know what he can do anyway. Notice he has not been returning kicks either. By all accounts, he has looked good in camp.

Although Harris can play inside or out, I think the sets will depend on when they decide to put Austin in the slot. So the true 3 is not fixed.

If Austin is in the slot, then eventually assume Dez and Williams are on the outside, with Harris able to sub all three OTs.

If Dez and Austin are outside, then Harris and probably Beasly get the slot reps.

Dez is the fixed #1
Austin and Harris can play anywhere
Williams is an outside guy
Beasly is an inside guy

Thats a well rounded group

Liking the depth at RB and WR. Still want to see what we have in our backup TEs. The offense can be deadly if the OL holds up.

I don't understand why Williams is already being placed ahead of Harris by many fans? Has he done something I am unaware of? Regardless of where he was drafted he has to prove he can play at this level. By the way, I think Harris is much better than Beasley but that's just my opinion and I like Beasley. Harris is much more versatile than Beasley will ever be...........

i dont want to pile on, but yes that always happens, a guy who can produce, the team tries to see what they got in the new guy and AUTOMATICALLY hes already better. D Harris hasnt been non existent you just dont know what hes doing in camp or being asked to do. Harris has always produced. Do you think he forgot?

Williams is the #3 WR. Drafted for that reason and is worth the hype. He will get a chance next week to show it on the field. I think the Cowboys are giving Beasley a chance to prove he can play special teams to justify dressing him on game day. #4 or #5 WRs have to contribute on special teams.

I don't even know why people are saying Harris vs Williams, as they don't even play the same position much of the time

Hey Brian,

Quit reading my posts and stealing my words.. thanks.

beasley has to stay healthy and not get injured everytime he gets tackled. But i love the lil guy. Has some welker in him (quickness and hands wise).

Harris is really an inside guy and rather limited on the outside. A guy his size on the outside better be fast, real fast, and Harris isn't that and he's also a midget. He is an inside guy, and shouldn't be confused with someone who can play both spots.

TWill has the ability to play outside, and the bigger portion of this is the fact that Miles actually plays better in the slot in 3rd down situations. The bottom line is sure Miles can play outside, but he looks better in the slot, so that's why TWill is favored over Harris by some. Plus you have the added prospect of a lineup of Dez, TWill, and Harris next year if they cut Miles.

You have a good point my friend, and I just want to say that I'm one of the guys that predicted he would be torn in half by huge defenders because of his size. (bulk mainly) But I can remember when I played receiver back in the day, I did not have fast straight line speed - 4.59 guy - but my quickness out of the break was historical, and that's why I was always open coming out of the break. Now if he didn't throw at that point, the guy would catch up eventually.

So I understand Cole Beasley. The guy is cat quick, and when he plants his foot, it's good night. The only way to control him is to kill his start up and jam him on the line real good, this causes the QB to look else where, and the fact that if a 6'2 220 pound SAFETY crushes him real good, he may actually die on the field. But other than that, I think Cole could be a huge asset.

Harris can certainly play the outside.. if you watched the games last year, you know he was put there just as much as he was put inside by the coaching staff.

Its ok.. Goodell took care of that. We all know DB's aren't allowed to hit people anymore.

Seriously though, you could say this about a number of players in the NFL.. and yet they still exist. The fact that these guys are so quick doesn't allow for big safeties to be able to line up huge hits on them very often.
