I am sure the Dak crowd will push back on this, but this game Monday largely resides on his shoulders. Brady is going to do what Brady does. While I don't think the D will get overrun by him, he's going to generate some points.

So it comes down to Dak. He simply can't make some of the dumb throws he's been making the 2nd half of the year. If he has a couple turnovers again, it's going to be tough to win unless the defense just plays out of their minds and beats the piss out of Brady.

And guess what? Games like this should rest on the shoulders of your $40 million QB. That's why you paid him what you paid him. He was paid to be a game changer, a big time game player. Well, here's his chance.

You and I both know the refs are not about to let this happen. Flags will be thrown for even giving Brady the side eye in this game and I am already on record predicting not one single solitary holding call will go against the Bucs. Not a one.. at least not on the line.. They may sneak one in against a receiver holding downfield or a tight end holding on a wide run but in pass protection? Not a chance. The league wants Brady to walk off into the sunset on his own two feet, not ride off on the golf cart.

Still there is no argument that Dak needs to play well in this game and cannot get caught up trying to be overly aggressive. The good news is he has seen this defense once this year and they are going to be without their best pass rusher, Barrett, this time around. They do still have Nelson but he is not the pass rusher Barrett is.. not that he is chopped liver though. Devin White had two of the Bucs' four sacks in that game though. The Cowboys better figure out where he is at all times. I need to see Dak roast these people like 2021.. I think if he does that the Cowboys will win because this Bucs team is not nearly as good as that one.

Is it not a fact that Dak and the Cowboys have been phenomenal on Monday nights? Yes or no?
Phenomenal against crummy teams? No I don’t think anything is a phenomenon when the majority could do it. Definition of phenomenon:a remarkable person, thing, or event. In this context no it’s not phenomenal to beat a crummy Detroit team, crummy Arizona, Giants(‘19), or Phili in 2020. Does this help?

Dak did not play Philadelphia in 2020 and the notion that you can only be phenomenal based on the opponent is ludicrous. If you play well you play well. It's not your job to make the opponent look good. Dak has feasted on the teams that have been put in front of him on Monday nights. If he had not played well you would be here screaming to the heavens about how bad he has been on Monday nights. And Philly may not have had a great offense last season but their defense was legit. Except when facing Dak and Patrick Mahomes.. Mahomes put up 42 against them and Dak hit them for 41 and 51. They held 10 opponents to under 20 last year 13 under 30. Carr and the Raiders were the only other team to top 30 on that defense last season with 33. TB12 did hit 'em for 31 in the playoff game though. Every other team they played they were able to hold in check.. But those four QBs lit them up. And nobody lit them up more than Dak did. If you remove the games against those four guys they're holding people under 20 a game. But yeah since the Cowboys beat them and Dak destroyed them they're automically a "crummy team."

Thing is you guys already have the posts in the hopper if Dak lights Tampa up and the Cowboys win. Tampa will instantly become "not a good team" and theirs "not a good defense." We already know.. So when the Cowboys do win we can probably write your posts for you.

Dak can put up points. It is the D you should worry about.

Oh there is plenty of worry to go around. I have concerns about every player at every position, every coach, every unit. I know the guys are good enough to get it done but I recognize that I have zero control over how well they play and that our faith in them or lack thereof will have zero effect on the outcome of the game. But talking about it makes me feel better..

But only a little..

I was looking up some other stuff when I came across this splits for Dak on Monday night... Good lord this dude has been good on Monday nights. I'm trying to summon the game they lost from my memory. Does anybody remember that one?

Edit: I left out 13 TD and 2 INTs too..
Go look at his attempts for each game. When he is used as the bus driver he should be its possible. This guy shouldnt be throwing over 35 passes a game, if he is we are in trouble.

I will never be a believer in magic numbers like that. Dak threw it 35 times for almost 350 yards and 3 TDs in what was easily the biggest game of the season.. The late season showdown with the best team in the NFL. But maybe you're saying he has to throw it EXACTLY 35 times or we lose.. even though he threw it 41 times the next game against Tennessee and we won that one too. The simple fact of the matter is this is an offense that is based off play action. So when we don't run the ball worth a darn, like the last 3-4 weeks, it's harder to execute the offense. Harder, but not impossible as evidenced by the two example above. I don't care if Dak throws it 10 times of 50 times. All I care about is winning the game. Sometimes 15-20 attempts will be enough.. Other times it will take 40.. Doesn't matter to me which one it is. So long as we get the Dub.

Under 35 times or we lose. Yes, someone do some research and tell me his win loss with 40+ throws

This reminds me of the old canard about "the price of tea in China".

Well is it 35 or is it 40? This year the Cowboys are 1-1 when Dak has thrown it over 40 times and 3-2 when throwing it over 35. Here's the thing about that stupid stat. Until Kellen Moore took over the Cowboys were a run-heavy offense.. which means the ONLY time they were going to be attempting a high number of passes was when they were way behind. The Cowboys are not typically behind because they throw a lot of passes.. they throw a lot of passes because they fall behind. If they are ahead or tied they tend to stay very balanced so the passing numbers will typically always be lower in wins.

I guess you forgot you forgot to put up Brady's numbers against Dakota "WENTZ 2.0" Prescot!
Because those numbers are out there everywhere. We haven't beat Brady (not just with Dak bu the way). We have won a road playoff game. Our record on grass isn't great. That is all out there. Why wouldn't we be looking for positive things heading into the game? You are a fan of the Cowboys, right? You do want to have reasons to think we will win, right?

Or do you just want to prep for who to blame if they lose?
