We have rbs that can get the job done. McFadden and randle can work together. If Ap gets cut he is ours too. We need defense

Sorry bro, but the RBs we got aint going to get the job done. Broaddus on Talking Cowboys basically said that Randle was on the bubble to even make the roster because the coaches don't trust him.

As far as McFadden, over the last 3 seasons he is the second worst back in the NFL based on yards per carry. Only Trent Richardson is worst. And before anybody says "it was Oakland", it has been chronicled in the media several times that the other backs that Oakland used had a higher yards per carry than McFadden, that is why he got benched.

Bottom line.................If we don't get either a top rookie RB or Peterson, our running game is going to look pedestrian.

Haha you're crazy. McFadden and candle can do it. This isn't your average line. Murray had 800 yards before contact like season. That's a thousand yards before you even start good

I don't like waiting until the end of the 3rd round to address the DL.

You might wait longer...you might WISH we got one in the third round.

We have shown hardly any interest in bringing in or talking to DTs that are rated for the first few rounds....DEs are another story but even those it seemed like we only talked to a limit amount that would be considered 1-3 round selections.

I think with recent history, I do not believe they draft a player in round 1 that they have not brought in for a visit. I have not seen any thing yet, that shows the Cowboys have met with or visited with Marcus Peters. I don't think he will be on their board.

As BP said, we've brought in like 8 RB's. We are going to draft one of them.

Like the rest of the players and we have been linked to most of them. Don't know about Alexander.

Still think we probably trade down. With 4 picks in 2nd and 3rd rounds we get a DE.

So somewhere between #41-#44 of the 2nd round to pick up a 3rd? If you go by the value chart to get equal or similiar points value.

team might similar to what you suggest after a small trade down.
i don't think they go peters at 27 with his character issues.
but he does have extreme value in that 35 area.
.
garrett has had guys who holler at the coach and first thing he did was ship them out/off.
all that t.o. gang was jettisoned toute suite. --t.o., crayton, choice
so i'd plug in other CBs there.

while i like the rb pool in town currently i don't think you leave this draft class without one given what may fall to rounds 4 or 5.
i think 4 or 5 of these guys would qualify as the top rb in an average draft.

Thanks for the effort
Lots of very good players

I would like to make a guarantee right here and now.
Unless we make a huge deal before the draft for a RB, we are drafting one.

  • Peters is a talent for sure. I tend to think after using our public good-will allowance on Hardy, we will not take a head case-case at our most high-profile draft choice. No denying his talent though.

  • Rowe would help us, I think.

  • I'm mixed on Hunter, but the 3rd round would ease my qualms some

  • Grady Jarrett probably won't make it the late 3rd....let alone the late 4th. Some even think he can go late 2nd. Good player though and steal if we could get him there.

  • Alexander in the 5th would be good value.

  • I'd say Clark is a higher probabalilty than Peters....taking character risk guys later isn't so crazy. Taking them both would be out, I think.

more likely imho...

drop from 27 to about 35.

pick up a late 3rd. you now have 2 2nds and 2 3rds for a small drop.

OR you could drop to about 35 for a flop of picks in round 3 so that you now have: 35, 60, and say 68 (instead of 91),

dallas always builds boards with a certain number of guys in each round.
if they rate about 70 guys with future starter grades, gaining an additional pick in the top 75 could/should be a goal.

For a mock to be realistic it needs to be within a round or 1/2 round of something like the CBS rankings.

CBS has Eric Rowe at #31 and 3 of 6 draft analysts from ESPN and CBS have him as a first rounder.

27: R1P27 - Marcus Peters 26
60: R2P28 - Eric Rowe 31
91: R3P27 - Danielle hunter 49
127: R4P28 - Grady Jarrett 57
163: R5P27 - Kwon Alexander 120
236: R7P19 - Frank Clark Michigan 115
243: R7P26

So now we have to be realistic in our mocks? You bastages are no fun.

IMO and many others lol Mcfadden isn't good and we need too draft someone. Just because our O line is good we shouldn't get a top RB? Makes no sense. I think Murray left a lot of yards on the field last year, weren't many big runs. Mcfadden would be a lot worse.
