Lots of talk about the offense, and rightfully so....but this defense has been playing great lately.

Yeah, time of possession helps, but is this something any of us thought would happen? Even the first two games, 20 and 23 points allowed. Pretty impressive so far.

They are making plays in the secondary that are very impressive.

Well, if you have even a hint of optimism about anything Cowboys-related, you are, by definition (so say the "realists"), a blind homer. You either have to live with it, or change your optimistic ways...

The defense rates Middle of the pack except for one category which happens to be the one that matters the most. 8th on the league in points allowed. The old bend don't break.

They can't be top ten until they rush better against teams not named the Bengals.

Agreed. The prevent defense caused a few more TD's.

Our defense stats are skewed more than any other team because of this. We have blow away teams in our last 2 games and not only garbage time but Cincy was basically done by halftime. No question our stats don't look that great and we drop to middle of the league. Like some one earlier in this thread said, only one stat counts and that is points allowed and we are 8.

The secondary is really playing good
If we can get some pass rush they could really shine. Until late tigers had some plays he could have had lunch before the rush got to him though late they turned it up
Jumping out to early leads and continuing to put together drives helps make team one dementional which helps the pass rush

Still need a better pass rush. Both Cousins and Rodgers were off when we played them. There were wide open receivers that dropped balls or more so didn't have a chance to make the catch. Now that happens but that's my perception of those two QBs those two games.

Not taking away anything from the back 7 or 8. They are playing very well. A better pass rush would help seal the deal.

That's not true. If we are stopping teams from scoring and getting turnovers then I could care less if we have sacks or not

The last two games we have LOST the time of possession. Yet another myth that makes its way around the world.

I'm certainly not satisfied.

I have yet to witness one opposing quarterback carried out on a stretcher. every one of them have ended the game still consciences.

There have actually been drives where an opponent gets a 1st down. It wasn't three and out. Unacceptable!

The worse part is every single game has ended with a score in which the opponent's is larger then zero. If they can't hold the opponent's score to a negative number then Marineli is the problem and not the solution.

Don't feed me those wolf cookie perceptions that this defense is functional, improving, and contributing to the success of the team. All this sunshine pumping homeristic drivel makes me nauseous. I'm gonna go throw up.

What we did yesterday was great.

But that model is not sustainable. We batted passes away often, we were not blanketing coverage. It took effort and it was very good.

But the Packers have been out of sync for a while.

It is not like we beat GB from three years ago. They are having their own struggles. So is Cincinnati.

But before you jump me for trying to dump on the accomplishments, stop. I am not.

It is just hard to gauge totalities from what we have seen.

And I think everyone gets why we need a pass rush.
