You still have another 4th round pick( compensation pick)

I think we actually have 2 more. By that point it’s anybody’s guess and I only really pay attention to the top 100 or so prospects.

Those first 3 picks are project players.
Farley is extremely raw and has 0 interest in tackling.
Tryon has huge upside but he has a long ways to go before being a contributor.
Shelvin is out of shape and people question how much he loves football.
Outside of that this looks good.

Farley is not a project player. He has injury issues. I actually prefer Surtain here, but Cowboys may like Farley better.

Tryon may need a season or 2. He can definitely be a rotational piece the first year and gives us the ability to move on from Gregory if we need to.

Shelvin is not a fat slob. He’s a run-stuffer and a gap plugger which is what we need so that our LBs can run around and make plays without having to take on big OL, which is where they struggle.

Farley might be the biggest project in the 1st round. The dude doesn't understand football, has 0 interest to help in the run game, and plays off of pure athleticism. The dude is a pure project.
Shelvin is a 2 down player that brings 0 in terms of pass rush. He also had conditioning problems and again coaches questions how much he liked football. IMO that is a day 3 pick.

Just because you don’t like a player doesn’t mean he’s a project. Farley will be selected by someone in the first 15 picks and I doubt they view him as a “project”.

We rotate a lot of DL. A run stuffer who plugs up the middle is exactly what we need to free up LBs and Gallimore.

I don’t want a CB in rd 1

and I’m not a fan of taking a player in rd 2 who will take a couple of years to start contributing

Farley can run, jump, and is a great size but outside of that what exactly does he do that says oh yea he's a top 10 player?

Fine to disagree on liking a player. I like him, though probably not as much as the Cowboys do. He started for 2 years at CB for a major D1 program, though, so he’s definitely not a project.

I don't think he means it in the sense that he's not a good player but what he stated in terms of not having football knowledge and playing off pure altheticism is not total speculation. 105.3 said a scout interviewed him and he had 0 idea about the X's and O's aspect, compared to Surtain who is not an athletic freak but I've heard he has amazing football IQ. Something to evaluate, watching us last year not know how to line up does not make picking Farley easy but I agree ceiling wise he may be the best corner in the draft.

FYI - it was mentioned he would not be better than Okudah last year, Farley or Surtain.

That’s good to know. I prefer Surtain anyway, just going by reports that the Cowboys prefer Farley.

Farley is not a project player.
I don't think this is true. Aside from his injuries, he's never shown to have a particularly high football IQ.

He's a tremendous athlete, but limited experience and doesn't have a lot of polish to his technique. Farley is very much a project, he's in the top-10 discussion because of his upside though. Basically the 2021 version of CJ Henderson.

I'm actually thinking don't select Farley age 22 with back surgery scheduled makes me a little nervous.
I've had neck surgeries and back issues myself and they can and will happen again. I would probably
not take Farley.

Yeah, this mock was obviously made before the news of his back came out.

I need to see the 40 times and 3 cone for Surtain before committing but I also have really warmed up to a trade down add a pick than take Jaycee Horn
