49ers game convinced Prescott he has to use his legs more

Not a huge Dak fan but he has played really well the last 2 games. Him moving around really has opened things up and turned negative plays into positive ones. Today he was just on point throwing the ball. One of the most accurate games I have seen out of him. That TD to Ferguson had a tiny window.

Hopefully this continues.

The coaching staff couldn't figure out that our OL is garbage this year until that game?

Even Martin has been very average and Steele has been Mr. Turnstile. Dak needs to run much more with the way the OL has been playing all year.
The run game is really weak this year.

Worst it’s been in a long time.

He needs an account here many have been saying this since he recovered from the broken/dislocated ankle.

What an epiphany moment.....SMDH, is he that dense? or just ignorant?.....either one, is troubling. He actually just should admit the truth------his ankle injury has discouraged and held him back mentally to run the ball. I tried putting it in words my comment won't get deleted. Run the dammmmmm ball when you have the chance!!!!!! Move in the pocket to buy more time.

I’m not a fan of Dak but when he uses his legs he is a different QB. Much better. I feel he plays looser and with more confidence when he gets a couple first downs with his legs. Making him a pocket passer that the defense doesn’t have to worry about then it doesn’t go our way. When Dak uses his legs it keeps the defense honest and loosens up the defense. My unemotional take is:

Dak as a pocket passer - 25-20 best QB in the league.

Dak using his legs- top 10 QB maybe 7-6 best QB in the league.

He seems more accurate throwing on the run, as ridiculous as that sounds.
I agree. It’s weird. He is more accurate and seems to read defenses better when using his legs and on the run. I say make the offensive game plan based on that.

He seems to play better at home in general. The offense doesn't like grass so, next week could be a problem...

It is weird. He seems to have big games when he breaks for a couple first downs early on. At least it feels like he has better games. Maybe the defense softens just enough or gives him some confidence. Either way, keep doing it.

Eh, I don't see it as an indictment on the offense.

The NFL almost requires QBs to be mobile nowadays. Defenses have gotten too good and there are no more "fortress" offensive lines.

The days of a Peyton Manning or Drew Bledsoe sitting in the pocket and lighting it up appear to be over.

The best QBs in the league nowadays are mobile and use their legs the best.

Dak was a sitting duck against the 49ers, and without a run game, that's a recipe for disaster. I'm just glad he learned from it.
people here have to find a negative from anything, he learned which is great.

He will never be a run first guy like Hurts or Jackson but he can move and get first downs running.

The fact that our offensive line isn't pass blocking as well as it used to is a fair cause for Dak to step up his running game. I wouldn't encourage him to overdo it, though. He's not quick enough to get away with it on a regular basis, imho. When running is necessary to avoid getting sacked on a regular basis, however, that's a different story. He managed to make it work out well today, though, as something very necessary to avoid undue pressure and the constant threats of injury. I think a team with a pass rush like Philly has may very likely necessitate running more than usual, also.

The biggest difference with Dak is scrambling and either running it or extending the play. I have been saying for a few years now that the key to disrupt Dak was to bring heat as he sits back there like a statute. All the best QBs use their legs Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers, heck even Brady would move around.

Let’s see if it continues.

I begged for Dak to use his legs in more threads than I'd like to recall.
I beat that drum till I broke the stick.

All I can say at this point is better late than never it gives us some good football to watch.
