Why the hell didn't coaching come up with this “ no brainer” ?Took him awhile to realize how bad this offense was and that any sot we have is on the move with his legs.
They need to. ClearlyNo...it's coaching...you don't risk 40 million a year if you don't need to.
Ruuuun Forrressst....Ruuuun!“Hold up…… I got legs …….. and they work! Oh I’m gonna use these things.”
- Prescott after SF game
I’m trying to figure it out as well but it’s always been my assumption the reason why a lot of these coaches suck is they want to die their way. When I sit here and wonder why don’t coaches make adjustments or change? It’s because they are too proud and foolish to abandon what they’ve worked so hard on. So they’d rather be prideful and get fits. Why the hell didn't coaching come up with this “ no brainer” ?
What they paying Schottenheimer for anyway?
I expect the defense to make adjustments. This offense doesn’t but it seems to be that way around the league for some reason. So much for halftime adjustments.
Exactly this is ridiculous. You should always be working on moving in the pocket, especially moving up in the pocket.
I guess it's a process.
It is not rollouts that are the key, it is moving up in the pocket, Not backwardsSaid this for years. I’ve repeated it 100 times here. I love watching him when he rolls out and gets to the edge. He’s actually a better passer. I think post injury he got scared. If we ever are going to go far he needs to throw injury concerns out the window and go
I said it from the first extended he got in that preseason game, ironically enough against the Rams, when he absolutely lit them on fire that Dak was maybe the best on the move passer I'd ever seen. The only ones I've seen in my lifetime who were MAYBE as good or better would be Montana or Staubach. That remains the case to this day. Dak may never be Tom Brady or Peyton Manning from the pocket.. but he doesn't have to be. Dak can make throws on the run that those two could only dream about. It was always going to be a tightrope for him to walk as to how much to run, how much to move around, how much designed rollout and how much drop back passing to use. But the fact that he's good at all of the above is what makes him special. The fact that he can go get you a first down 2-3 times a game which forces the defense to play 11 on 11 every play is the icing on the cake. I think Dak and McCarthy may have found that balance finally and I really look forward to where it can take this offense.Said this for years. I’ve repeated it 100 times here. That's not coaching.. that's ownering! LOL!No...it's coaching...you don't risk 40 million a year if you don't need to.
yes that and knowing WHEN it's time to take off, JUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!Dak is capable not doubt. Can be great at times. CONSISTENCY is his issue and that’s a problem. Legs or no legs he can really struggle at times especially against a good defense.
His timeline for winning a SB is age 53.It's year 8.
Another example of something this dude should've known years ago.
I feel like this is a bit of a bogus criticism. EVERYbody struggles against good defenses. That's why they call them GOOD defenses. Check this out.. In the last two seasons the Cowboys defense has given up three 300 yard passing games. In that span here is the list of QB's they've held under 300 yards.. Tom Brady (196), Matthew Stafford (twice 285,162), Joe Burrow (195) , Jalen Hurts (136), Kirk Cousins (twice 177,110), Aaron Rodgers (208), Patrick Mahomes (244), Justin Herbert (219), Brock Purdy (199) ...Dak is capable no doubt. Can be great at times. CONSISTENCY is his issue and that’s a problem. Legs or no legs he can really struggle at times especially against a good defense.
Really? Brady, Mahomes, Rodgres? I was a big Dak supporter on here. He lost me until he proves he can consistently beat good teams. Stop being such a homer and admit he struggles against good teams.I feel like this is a bit of a bogus criticism. EVERYbody struggles against good defenses. That's why they call them GOOD defenses. Brady did "light them up for over 300" in that playoff game .. but I think we can all agree most of that was garbage time since we were beating the pants off his team. But you get the picture.. Good defenses hold good QBs in check. That's their job. Acting like Dak is the only one who isn't putting up 400 yard/3 TD games against the good defenses is disingenuous as all get out. Look at all those sub 200 yard games man!!!
