This is a stupid take and I don't even want to defend dak but he literally destroyed the eagles zone defense less than a month ago.

"Per @NextGenStats, Dak Prescott went 24-for-24 for 300 yards when Eagles played zone. Eagles defense allowed points (4 TDs, 4 FGs) on 8 of 10 Cowboys possessions. Eagles’ 2nd-worst defensive performance of the season, based on EPA per drive."

I am in no way defending Dak's performance because that speaks for itself with so many interceptions this season.

That said, the one thing that irritates me when teams play zone against the Cowboys is that Kellen Moore calls a lot of comeback routes which makes it really easy for the defenders to defend. The defender never loses sight of the ball while the Cowboys receiver only sees the ball at the end of the comeback route.

Even if that's the only way he knows how to beat zone you would think at some point he would mix in some "run to the defender, stop, turn back, then immediately turn around and take off down field" just to keep the defenders honest or hesitating.

With the exception of selling his good boy image, and making tons of cash there really isn't anything great or good about him on the gridiron.
P.S. The leadership tale went sailing after Sunday's loss......

You mean like this pathetic play where all the receivers run right to the defenders then just turn around. The defenders are looking right at Dak to jump the route as the receivers run toward them. This has to be the worst play to run when defense is playing zone with their eyes toward the QB.

The risk taken to get 4 yards is not worth it. We've been running this play multiple times a game since JG days as OC/HC.

Don't worry about what I do as you have Dak to keep you in suspense.
P.S. No one disappears just refuse to partake in silly Dak is great parties here when it's against sub-.500 (like the Bucs) opponents.
You only appear when things go your way( Dak plays poorly and the team loses.) When things don't go your way you have nothing to say and you disappear. This speaks to your lack of character and your lack of maturity as an adult.

Hey, junior you haven't been here long enough to be in a position to have a valid opinion of the PAPPYDOG which just to clarify I am totally indifferent about for reasons I'm pretty sure you can figure out.
P.S. Don't expect another response as I have given you enough time which frankly you haven't earned!

The outside of the field was open all game and we didn't take advantage of it. Some of that is Dak, some is on KM and some of it is on Gallup not being good enough and running terrible routes.

Dak seemed to really struggle getting the ball outside. Didn't have zip on the ball and spiral wasn't tight. Suspect it is finger related but regardless, it was extremely apparent throughout the game that Dak wasn't able to make all the throws all the time.

That's exactly what I am takling about. I saw that happen multiple times during the game.

I remember watching the replay on one of the 3rd-and-10 plays when the Cowboys sent 4 receivers (2 on each side) 10 yards to the first down marker, had them stop and turn around right in front of the defenders making it easy for the defenders to cover all 4 of them.

Even if one of them caught the ball they were not getting a first down because they would be 1-3 yards short at that point as the defender was right there to make the tackle.

It's not really that hard to attack zone coverage. You beat zone by running through it which forces the defenders to turn away from the ball.

You can then have one or more receivers stop and turn back while the others keep going or you could swing a tightend or running back around into the middle of the field for an easy catch and run.

The Cowboys receivers are at their best when they are running slants and crossing patterns, not comebacks.

That is a Kellen special, run curl routes right at the sticks. If they do catch it, it often results in being short after the tackle. There aren’t many routes that allow for YAC in this offense.

Speaking to NinersNation.com, Jimmie Ward said straight up: "Dak isn't good against zone."

He said something similar after last year's defeat.

Dont you think that we use comebacks and curls because they suit Dak? When Dak's off he tends to throw at (or behind) the receiver, it's as if he needs an actual target and cant pre-empt the route, hence the issue with 'ins' and negates the slants knowing that there will be someone in the area.

1st year for Dak there was a lot of hitting receivers on the run. Short passes, but on the run.

I think it was 2019 when Moore took over as OC. First few games, Dak's QB rating is astronomical. All play action, with quick passes hitting receivers on the run.

Somewhere along the line we went back to GarrettBall, no route interactions, run downfield, turn around and stand there. Defender has an hour to get there before the receiver can turn around and get going.

We did the same thing when Romo was the QB and JG was the OC. It's big part of JGs offence.

Don’t let him get in your head. You should participate as little as possible and I support you.
