OR, they saw him practice, realized he can't cover any of their WRs, saw Diggs got hurt, released knowing he'd end up back in Dallas and now will be targeted 40 times in the up coming match up.

The 49ers said they signed him to the practice squad to see how his injury was. Obviously, he is in no condition to play soon.

I wanted the Cowboys to sign 49ers CB Tre Willing from the PS. 49ers probably knew Cowboys would likely sign Swilling so they put him on the 53-man roster. 49ers lost one CB a week or two ago.

He's coming off major injury that very few players recover and return to form back from. (Achilles tendon)
There's a chance that he isn't running and turning up to expectations.

Would rather increase Bland's and Lewis' reps, see what Noah and Israel are all about before spending another moment watching Brown either get penalized or play way too cautios and give up easy plays.
