4th and 11 final pass goes through the end zone

It was impossible for him to just heave it into the endzone for a 50/50 ball instead of just chucking it out of the endzone?

I think he did it to avoid an interception to preserve his stats.
I could be wrong, but I think he flung it as hard as he could because he thought he was about to get hit. It is unfortunate he tried to He-Man the throw because taking a little off his heave would have given his receivers a chance to beat the defenders to the duck.

Im watching this game on the dvr at 1am by myself and im just zipping through all the flags and stuff and i can barely stay awake

From what I remember the game was still winnable right? We got a 4th down and they blitz

What does our fearless leader do? Throw the game away for the 2nd time this Season.

I know he’s very good or whatever but holy cow is his offense playing uninspired sloppy doppy.
It's beginning to be the general plan in those situations: "if it's not there, throw it away", regardless of circumstances.

God bless the Dallas Cowboys.

In a scenario where an interception is as good as a punt or turnover on downs, some QBs will airmail a ball before risking harming their stats.
Others, even knowing it is very likely to get picked, but it's their only chance to stay alive, will risk a pick all day long.

Just sayin

His ribs were still tender, his worst fears are coming true (again) and he's embarrassed. Easily explainable. And yes, he wanted to preserve his stats. When his lizard brain did the math, chuck it in the end zone made the most sense.

If you wanted a chance to win the game...well...your ribs and ego weren't bruised, were they?

He can throw it in the field of play where one of his receivers is, not 20 yards out of bounds.

True there was an unblocked blitzed, but give one of your 30 million dollar receivers a chance.
He didn't do throw it 20 yards out of bounds. The ball landed under the crossbar, any 6-foot WR would have been able to catch it.

Let me know when you enter reality.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was Dak's thinking as he launched the ball out of the end zone.

Stat monsters like Dak don't look too kindly on end zone picks.
Again, this ball was catchable for any average-sized WR lol.

I get hyperbole, but I don't understand why you people jsut make things up.

Take the snap.
"Feel" the blitz.
Plant your back foot on the fifth step.
Step into the throw.
Aim for a spot.
Pray one of your guys can make a play.
Was that Mingo open as the middle of the 3-wide at the top of the screen AND was looking for the ball just as Dak released it? Just for probability's sake you throw in the direction of the 3 receivers because of the numbers you have over there. Looked as though Dak even looked that way first. Not good.

You are braver than me. I was scared to death to publicly speculate exactly where I thought he might have aimed the pass. I stuck with the pre-throw scenario.

I think winning the game was a longshot at that point. They were down 16 points with a few minutes to play. They needed 2 TDs and two 2 pt conversions to tie.

But Yeah, Dakota has to put that ball in play and let his receivers at least have a chance to catch the ball. Dak was awful last night and for $60 million he needs to be better.

No one's making stuff up. Watch the video Dallas East just posted.

It's clear as day they have an unblocked man standing at the line. Why didn't Dak see this? Even if it's a fake you have to account for it.

Call an audible at the line bring back the TE for extra blocking. Or call a timeout and bring back a rusher and a tight end for extra blocking.

Also, you aren't a high school football player anymore. Plant your freaking feet and fire. He looks like a newb with that back foot off balance throw.

A good QB with experience would have changed the play. A good QB would have at least thrown a catchable pass. Pause the video when the ball goes out of bounds. The closest receiver is in the middle of the end zone and not even close.

Your QB looks terrible here and you are the only one defending him. It's more indicative of your football experience and possibly your comprehension levels. I would stop calling other people idiots and go back to the film room for some more practice.

pass reminds me of the one against Baltimore where he just THREW it to throw it away

you guys are crazy, no other qb in the NFL would have tried to throw in the area of a receiver. Another INT would have messed up his stats too. noobs

Yes, the idea that the ball was thrown "20 yards out of bounds" is made up. Completely false.

That is not clear lol. There's no indicator whether that guy is coming or dropping out into coverage. The entire point of that look is that the offense doesn't have keys as to who is or isn't blitzing.

It doesn't matter if you make that audible or not, because the guy covering the extra blocker then just blitzes, so the fact that there is a free blitzer does not change.

You honestly have no clue what you're talking about, because you have no sense of how that defense function.
