4th and Long gone from airwaves

My bad on the position, you may have told me fb before. None the less, at 25,26 you may have felt differently. I mean, what if it was the Cowboys and Tom Landry said , " Son, I like what I see from you". You would have probably had a heart attack right there, so I guess you would not have made it anyway. :D
I don't know about the heart attack but I might have peed.

I never played on the line.

No, I actually don't think I would have wanted to be on that show if it was for FBs. Not the way I'd want to make it to the NFL. I thought I had a legit shot before I got hurt. I am really proud to say that no one I ever blocked in my life got a hand on the QB or the ball carrier. If I had made the NFL that no longer exists and I guarantee that. So I feel blessed.

But you can't fault these guys for trying to hold on hope, as long as there is hope. If its their dream, its their dream and they are going to fight for it any which way they can. And I commend them for that.

Holley being here this long shows that it wasn't some pub stunt.

I think the Cowboys like him.

I must be in the minority because I actually liked the show.

I definitely enjoyed it. I gained a new respect for what football players have to go through.

Okay. That is your right. I did not like the show concept nor the talent displayed. That is my right.

He won't be for long. He has to make the final 53 because his PS time is used up. We have more talented wrs than him.

whoa everyone is so harsh.

Who cares if Holley stinks, its not like he made an impact on our 2009 season. lol

The show was fun, it was football related and I like football. Bring the show back again and if the winner stinks and doesnt make the team, who cares? At least we get to see football stuff before preseason.

It's dang near July, i think we all could have figured out at this late date it wasn't coming back.

That show annoyed me. A bunch of ham and eggers with delusions that they are NFL caliber and one of them got a contract and is still on the team. I can't wait until he is waived. That show should have been for a scrub team, not a contender.

:hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Here's a possible explanation for that empty feeling hanging over you lately.

Michael Irvin's 4th and Long, which awarded a Cowboys roster spot to the winner, won't be returning for a second season.

I was one of the few people that watched (and enjoyed) the program last year, so it's not a good sign that it took Florio's reality TV show post today to notice 4th and Long had yet to return. We've since confirmed with Spike that Irvin's show won't be back.

If nothing else, Irvin's creation will continue to live on with Cowboys receiver Jesse Holley. The winner of the reality show scored a touchdown during last preseason, made the Cowboys practice squad, and remains on the roster.

Good riddance to that embarassment.

If the best player to come out of the show was Jesse Holley, then the real reason it's not coming back is the fact that no team wants to waste a roster spot on the complete lack of quality that comes out of it! :laugh2:

Okay, I've read all the nonsense here, so let's get real.

While Holley is no top-notch player, I disagree that he is is as overated as his haters make him out to be, or that he was merely handed anything.

Sorry, but anyone who thinks that is being naive because the 4th-And-Long show only guaranteed Holley an initial roster spot on the 2009 training campl roster of 80 players; it did NOT guarantee him a spot on the final team roster or practice squad.

Holley had to earn his way onto the 2009 Coboys squad - by making all cuts and eventually landing himself onto the parctice squad.

As a Cowobys fan, I'm proud of Holley for that, and for continually earning his way on the current 80-man training-camp roster for 2010. The Cowboys recently made 5 cuts and Holley was not among them. They're currently at 81 players and need to cut one more. It migh be Holley but I won't be surprised if it's not. In fact I don't expect it to be him in the least.

Like it or not, Holley earned the right to stay again. That's as black and white objective as it gets. And thatt's somthing for those going on a Hollely-Hating-Spree through this thread to think about. Like it or not!

So let's get real, shall we?

I never managed to watch an episode. Oh well.

I can't understand why some hardcore Cowboy fans would not want to watch the show. Is it related to the Cowboys' organization: yes. It involves Michael Irvin who is one of the most popular Cowboy players.

I'll watch anything that has any kind of material related to the Cowboys right now. Having a 24 hour camera on Michael Irvin or even Leonard Davis would be more entertaining right now then watching baseball or golf.

So if there was a second season, heck yeah I would watch it again eventhough the player would have a slim chance of making the team. I love anything related to the Cowboys.
