I just got off the phone with Jamie Dykstra from the CFL.

He's the media director for the league and Andrew Hawkins is on the active roster of the Montreal Alouettes.

He's number 0.

Why he chose that number is still a mystery, lol.

To me, that's a pretty good indicator that Hawkins is the guy who wins.

Or maybe the fact that they said the temps were in the 30's on one of the previous shows, tipped you off to the fact that it wasn't live TV? Maybe that gave you a hunch that it was taped back in the late winter/early spring? I mean, since Dallas temps typically aren't in the 30's in July.

I give the producers/Spike credit (although it should have been an easy decision) on their timing for releasing the show.

Running this thing up to camp was a great decision since we're all ready for some football but there's just not much going on. In previous seasons we had NFL Europe to at least keep us kind of distracted trying to keep up with the Cowboys players over there.

If they had started this show in April, it might have been done in time for the player to attend minicamp and some OTAs, which would have benefited him, but it also would have had more competition for drawing an audience.

Do I have to go and fess up to my 8 year old (whom I'm trying to light a bit of a fire under - and he likes to watch the show with me) that if you really want something you gotta earn it, and in this case it took 5 hours of drills to see if they really want it. Do I have to tell him now that it was only 2 hours, and if I remember correctly, every 3rd or 4th station they got 5 minutes by the massage tables!

I think I might keep this one a secret.

Holley has decent size, but whether he would stand out amongst others the same size, I don't know. Hawkins does have that quickness and speed that I think could potentially make him a good slot type option. Other than Witten, Romo needs another guy that gets quick separation. I think Hawkins is a better fit. Has Hawkins ever returned punts?

You sir are incorrect, Hawkins wins for the exact reason you say he wont. He is everything we DONT have in a wr. Small, quick, explosive shifty guy. We dont have anybody like that. Our division is FULL of guys like that, hence Hawkins being the perfect little training camp body for our players to go up against. Not to mention he is the biggest competitor on the show, as Michael says himself.

He wont make the team, but he will win 4th and long.

It might not mean anything, but Hawkins isn't signed with an NFLPA-certified agent right now. Holley is, and Moten is. Smith is not.

Holley also is the only one who has been signed by an NFL team before.
