Drafted by Cowboys 4th Round Pick - DE Dorance Armstrong Jr, Kansas (116th pick)

Id be surprised if Hurst got drafted by anyone with his medical concerns. Expecting JJ to make a play for him as a UDFA
I think teams have an ethical problem drafting a guy who really shouldn't ever play again.

Just when the Cowboys seem to be picking well, they drop a head scratcher. Right on cue. Why another DE when they already have tons of DEs??? Why didn't they instead try to shore up the interior Dline by going for someone like Tim Settle instead?
Good questions. Looks like a dev pick with perhaps some ST value although not very fast it seems. Looks like a Kyle Wilber replacement with some added insurance if Tank doesn’t get resigned to long term and Trapper doesn’t pan out (injuries). Know nothing about him tho so hoping he’s closer to his sophomore season level of player. Perhaps he’s this year’s Maleik Collins? He had a down year after being dominant the previous one. Maybe due to loss of other personnel that put more focus on stopping him?

Randy Gregory 2.0 - which admittedly might not be bad if there are no substance abuse concerns...

Because they think interior DL are worthless. At this point it's moved beyond joke to fact, the don't give a damn about the interior.
Fact. This is why I want Marinelli gone already. He needs to retire. Every year our biggest weakness on the Dline has been our interior Dline and how opposing offenses run at will right up our gutt. Marinelli's stubborness has run its course. I just don't understand what they are thinking?

Or a safety..

not to mention TE.

This is where I'm getting a little nervous.

We still have a bunch of picks and we are running low on rounds.

Can we turn in the picks and get credit on the unused picks towards next year..?

Reportedly played on a partially torn ACL that may not have been fully healed when he tested. Scheme also switched to a read and react scheme this year.

Also he likely drew constant double teams on a team like Kansas after the excellent Sophmore season he had.

Hurst will not be drafted and it is doubtful if any team signs him. He has the same heart problems that have killed many athletes during games.

I bit of an odd pick; I wonder if they think they'd try him at OLB, but seems a bit too slow to chase.

Marinelli is not running the draft, he gets the players he gets!

The kid is more of a 3-4 OLB (still had his hand down more in 2016, than in 2017), but he should be a decent pass rush specialist with a chance to develop into something more. I like the pick because of the upside (and if you are drafting for kids with upside who can still contribute right away, the 4th round isn't a bad place to draft them).

I try to be positive, but this is a head scratcher. He seems to light, He kept getting washed out. I wish the Cowboys would’ve went defense tackle. I hope they get this right

Really? Then what is he used for, to bring coffee and bagels to the draft room? Of course Marinelli has a say in the draft room! He evidently prefers DEs over DTs.
