Idk man some of that stuff was pretty bad and it seems like more stuff is coming out still.O yeh just like how bad the stories were about the Washington Football Team and Dan Snyder that ended up being nothing but disgruntled employees bringing up stuff from 15 years ago
From Cowboys beat writer David Moore:
Only Will Allen in 2013 played for the team...and he was cut after 5 games.
At what point does this FO ever figure out its better to draft a top safety than get a cheap one in free agency or wait for an aging, twice injured in 3 years, former star safety “at the right price”?

And they drafted Woodson under Jimmy. It’s remarkable. This team can’t figure out the S position. Not since Woodson.
It’s like you guys think they can draft or sign a FA top 5 player at every position. There is a freakin salary cap that you’re obviously not aware of. Just wait when the sign ET at a salary you would never have thought a year ago. This is what you get when you dig in a frugal man's trash can....useless scraps.
Cowboys do not invest or develop players on defense when Jerry Dumbo GM Jones is in total control.
Now we will dig in Baltimore's trash can for scraps.
This is the actual Cowboys historical strategy at Safety:
- Cornell Green free agent basketball player, develop to CB/FS/SS starter, Pro Bowler, and should be in Ring of Honor.
- Cliff Harris, free agent scouted/developed by Green to FS starter, Pro Bowler, Ring of Honor/Hall of Fame.
- Charlie Waters, drafted WR developed to SS starter, Pro Bowler.
- Dennis Thurman, drafted CB developed to CB/S starter, developed Downs and Walls to "Thurman's Thieves".
- Mike Downs, UDFA developed to FS starter, Pro Bowler, and 2nd Team All-Pro.
- James Washington, Plan B FA developed to starter FS/SS, came close to being a Super Bowl MVP.
- Thomas Everett, Trade Steelers for FS, Pro Bowler.
- Darren Woodson, drafted LB developed SS starter, Pro Bowler, All Pro, Ring of Honor.
- Brock Marion, Drafted developed to starter FS, Pro Bowler (Miami, see Dumbo GM).
- Roy Williams, Drafted starter FS, Pro Bowler, All Pro.
- Ken Hamlin, rookie starter Seahawks, FA cheap signing after off the field head injury, Pro Bowl.
- George Teague, rookie starter Packers, FA starter FS 5 years, 2 times with Cowboys
- Barry Church, UDFA develop starter SS 4 year starter, should have been converted to WLB passing downs (see Bill Bates).
Cowboys under Jerry Jones control drafted the last great Safety in Roy Williams, signed and let go George Teague to resign again, let Brock Marion, and Barry Church leave in free agency.
Cowboys need to play the young safeties Wilson, Kirk, Woods and convert Awuzie to S.
Rock, I thought Lamb was a good pick at 17. What I’m talking about is we haven’t drafted a S in the first round since Roy Williams. Has it been 16-17 years since we put some high draft capital there? So PurpleHaze who would you rather have Cee Dee Lamb or the highest drafted safety which was in the 2nd round Xavier McKinney?

I remember in 2002 after Dallas selected Roy Williams, I wanted them to trade up to go after Ed Reed. However, the Cowboys selected
After Dallas selected Roy Williams in 2002, I wanted them to trade up for Ed Reed . However, they picked Andre Gurode and he went to 5 Pro Bowls.

I'd rather they drafted Michael Rapp or Juan Thornhill instead of Hill.So PurpleHaze who would you rather have Cee Dee Lamb or the highest drafted safety which was in the 2nd round Xavier McKinney?
The only team that I know of that did that were the Jets in the 2017 draft when they drafted Jamal Adams in the first round and went right back in the second for another safety in Marcus Maye.Sort of off topic but I don't know why teams don't double dip. You may see teams go for a safety in the 1st or 2nd and then later on in the draft....but if I were a GM if I had two safeties graded high that were a SS and a FS...I'd take them in back to back rounds or even trade up for one of them just to solidify my secondary and let them build together. I really wanted this team to go get Buddha Baker and Xavier Woods.......earlier In the draft. Back when I thought Woods was going to be a 4th rounder...did not expect him to fail to us in the 6th...would've been even better.
