In this league you need to be good on the line on both sides of the football. You have to be good in the trenches. For whatever reason Demarco is the only back that has had success with this team's run blocking and whether or not Ware is still hurt him even injured is the best pass rusher on this team. Both of those guys coming back if they truly come back are something to look forward to.

Agreed. Its too simple for many to grasp.

Also, having a healthy Miles Austin wont hurt. For whatever reason Williams seems to have trouble grabbing the ball with his hand without letting it hit his body.

3 of the 4 games the Cowboys have lost this year have been by a total of 5 points. A one point loss to both the Lions and Chiefs, and a FG to lose against the Broncos.

It stands to reason that the team cannot win close games. Whether that's on the defense, the offense, Romo or Garrett, I don't know. Maybe all of them.

I do know that whenever Dallas is in a close game, I expect them to lose in heart breaking fashion. The inability to win close games is the reason the Cowboys have been one of the most disappointing franchises over the last decade-plus. It's become ingrained in the culture of the franchise, and now the fanbase.

This team does NOT know how to win. It starts at the top. Jerry as no idea (without Jimmy), and .500 is the norm. Can't change this culture...same thing for 17+ years.

I have been optimistic for a long time. As of today, I'm almost used up. I can't see this team being any better than 7-9 or 8-8 at the moment. Maybe I'll feel better in a day or two, but right now, I'm not even convinced they'll beat Minnesota at home next week. Isn't Adrian Peterson due for a breakout game?

Why would you be? Has something in the Garrett years made you think he's a winner? Oh yeah...we have a system now...

It is what it is.
I was fuming there for a while. While I love this team, I have much larger matters in my life than how good the Dallas Cowboys are doing.

So this is what it's like to be a broken fan?

So what did it for you old timer? The Campo years?

I agree on all of the above. People are ready to ship Miles out but a healthy Miles is reliable. And I like Terrance. I think its cool he's the only rookie in franchise history to have had a TD in 4 consecutive games. He's come a long way. But he's simply not ready. There's no shame in that but its the truth. The kid isn't ready to get 10 targets to Dez's 6. Quit forcing it on the rookie and let things come to him.

It's ok man you're just a casual observer now; it happens to the best of us. It happened to my dad around the Quincy Carter era.

One of these days the emotion will come back for you. I just hope it's in our lifetimes!

Well theoretically, you will only win 50 - 60% at best close games. Problem is, the many [games decided by 7 points or less] that Dallas has played under Garrett's tenure. There is simply too much luck involved when scores are close. One mistake often means the difference between winning and losing. It is only the matter of who makes the last one and has no time to recover. The margin for error becomes razor thin in a game that can turn on a tipped ball, errant bounce or fumble...or mismanagement of the clock.

The bigger question is whether or not Dallas will beat a team with a winning record this year. NO, CHI, and GB look like losses right now, where they face Brees, Cutler and Rodgers. A loss to the Giants in New York would be really upsetting and could setup a playoff game against Philly in the last game of the year. I don't think that the scenario is likely but after today, who knows? The Dallas offense is just not right and I don't think that things will change all that much, especially in road games. The defense cannot carry this team to a championship no matter how many turnovers it notches. The offensive ineptitude won't allow it.
