Why?

They have Carr and Jones.

White has possibly been the best CB in camp.

Patmon looks like a solid 4th CB and possible 3rd CB.

Claiborne has supposedly looked good.

you can never have enough if you have the chance. Its like questioning when a team keeps drafting QBs. You have a chance, take it.

Quickies I want to happen before season starts.

1) Cut Weeden, don't want to have nightmares about him ever playing.

2) Hardy Suspension reduced. He already served his time.

3) Add halfway decent backup QB. JG needs to drop his pride and let go of this failure. Bad experiment.

4) Add another good middle LB. If Lee and Hitchens health is any concern at all, we need more depth.

5) Extend Crawford. Can't wait for him to have monstrous year that's being predicted.

1) ok, if not weeden then who? lets make sure the alternate plan is better than what we have or at least not worst.

2) it is already reduced to 4 games.

3) please provide some names. its easy to say I want I want, but what are the options. I am sure the scouting and coaching staff also feel the same way but right now I can't think of any options.

4) don't disagree. probably a veteran back up would be good. I think they are waiting to see what happens at cut down time. every team usually has eyes on the wire and nab somebody and add them to the roster, so that wouldn't surprise me

5) like to see that, but we won't see it until mid season. I trust Stephen jones.

i assume that:

weeden will be the backup. there's no qb who is available, better, and who can be integrated into the offense in the next two weeks. that ship has sailed.

vaughan will be on the practice squad.

showers will make the roster for special teams, and continue to develop as a qb.

Be realistic!
#1, 3 and 4 unlikely to happen. QB doesn't not grow on trees. No 1800-get me a QB. 31 other teams looking as well.

Define "Good" MLB? Probably starting for someone else.

I like to see #5 happen now.
If you want Hardy to appeal so he can play now but if suspension upheld then he misses 4 game in middle or end of the season? Really depends on what he feels his chances are.

Sorry to say Weeden ain't going nowhere this year.....he is bad, but the only experienced QB backup on the roster; Vaughan has not looked good and Showers is too green. Jerry and Jason want that experience, although it is mediocre at best. i would love to have Showers as #3 and Vaughan kicked down to PS. Showers has shown more potential than both Weeden and Vaughan.

I think we'll roll with the LBs on the roster and Hardy along with the rest of the D will come around once the first team unit is together. Great depth at Dline and the secondary should be able to overcome the loss of Scandrick.

My real concern is at RB.....still not sold on this group. Will be our Achilles heel.

Some of y'all have very low expectations. When you start talking about Weeden being experienced, or better than what's out there. You lose evey ounce of credibility you might have had. He failed in Cleveland. Say that again, he failed in Cleveland. He has failed here. Oh wait , he checked down to Clutz, that's successful. If there are 32 backups in the league, there are 32 better choices. I'd go as far as saying Weeden wouldn't start for the top 50 NCAA teams right now. Hell, I'd take the entire list of guys who competed at the elite 11 camp a couple months ago. Wake up folks, he makes Showers look like an all pro.

Carr was bad last year.

I've heard how great Claiborne looks every single camp and every year I am extremely disappointed. I'm expecting to be severely underwhelmed by his play this year.

Scandrick was our best corner- we need a body/a few bodies to replace him.

I don't think we have to add a cb
But if I thought Ross could be a player I'd keep him
He's raw but there is something about him and by all accounts he's had a solid camp
But the numbers may not make that feasable

interesting

http://archauthority.com/2015/08/25...ed-attempt-at-constructing-the-53-man-roster/

Quarterbacks (3): Nick Foles, Case Keenum, Sean Mannion

Keenum clearly has the edge over Austin Davis, who’s gotten very abbreviated preseason opportunities. He’s been slightly better than Davis as a starter in the NFL and presents more upside behind Nick Foles.

Running Backs (5): Todd Gurley, Tre Mason, Benny Cunningham, Chase Reynolds, Malcolm Brown, Trey Watts*

More dramatic than the roster battle at this position is the battle for depth chart placement, as Cunningham and Mason will be fighting for the reps that remain behind presumptive starter Todd Gurley.

They cut Pead already.

Thats who the Rams got in the Mo Claiborne trade, if that makes anyone feel any better lol

It is highly unlikely that they could find a more talented CB than any of the 5 they already have on the roster. Also these 5 know the scheme. If a team was going to cut a talented CB it would probably have already happened for reasons like the salary cap. Teams are going to keep 5 CBs at the cut down date which means that the Cowboys options would be some other teams 6th best CB.

They are not dependent on Claiborne. Even without Claiborne they only need 2 out of Patmon, White and Jones to step up and be #2 and #3. Carr will be 1 of the top 3 regardless.

Seriously, none of the rookie running backs have been that impressive. Most seem to be hurt and very behind the learning curve
