5 to 1 on a sweep?

reading the previous thread made me think of a couple of my preseason bets. the one i like the most is my buddy (eagles fan) offered me 5 to 1 on a hundred that we wont sweep them. honestly i feel the eagles will be a .500 team this year, and possibly worse if mcnabb didnt fully recover. i also have two fifty dollar bets with two of my other buddies on the division. anybody have any feed back. oh yea and i also have a lock bet that our defense will be better. which is a given

The Boys have swept the eagles like once over the last 6 or 7 years. 5 to 1 bet isn't bad odds, but I'd still not make the bet. Chances are you lose $100.

If I were a gambling man (and I am), I would put like $200 on a team that has like 40:1 odds of making it to the superbowl. You lose $200, oh well, but if you win. That's 8 grand!

Bodog.com has the Skins at 40 to 1 to win the Super Bowl. You can double up and take the Packers at the same odds since it's such a good deal.
