Good article.

My favorite loser selection was Jaylon Smith:

"Perhaps no Cowboy has seen the fan base turn on them quite like Jaylon Smith. He and his swipe have become the icon for Cowboys celebrating when trailing, prioritizing their own brands over the good of the team.

On the field Smith was hardly the player that we saw last season. He and Leighton Vander Eschwere supposed to be the reason why this defense remained elite and they both had down years which led to the overall unit falling apart."

Nailed it.

What's the free agent WR market look like?

I have long argued that you have to bring back Cooper as he's the only legit #1 type we have. But maybe, just maybe, with the right coach if you let Cooper walk and brought back Cobb and found another legit #2 type veteran, you could survive with Cobb, Gallup and FA?

Losing a #1 pick for only a year and half of service would hurt but long term, maybe it's the wiser move? I never thought I would say that.

Amari disappeared the last month when we needed him most. Cowboys say their was no injury. He just played poorly at the absolute worst time. Not sure you pay a guy like that the 20 million per they are going to want. I like the idea of Letting Gallup and Cobb be your primary guys and then drafting or signing a taller wr.

I think he was hurt. I don't buy what the Cowboys were selling on him.

But I think strictly from a financial perspective, even if Cooper was consistently great, it might make way more sense to just let him walk.

Cooper, Cobb, Austin all FA's, not sure what other FA's will be out there from other teams.

We have Gallup, Smith, Brown, Wilson on IR, he can't seem to stay healthy. They seem to like this Vertrell Bryant.
If they don't sign Cooper or Cobb back, what seemed to be a strength at WR could not be as strong next season.

Yes I think so. But that's provided you find another WR like those two. Not quite number 1 WRs, but have a great knack for getting open. They don't come around too often. We don't want to end up like we started off in 2018.

no to Cooper
A #1 WR should be an alpha and Cooper is not

use that money to sign the best TE

Least likeable guy on the roster. He’s all about the brand

Outside of Gallup, Pollard and Quinn, there were no winners this season.

A lot of players had mixed results but most guys just played poorly all season.

Speaking of Gallup, how many drops for him this year? Reminds me of Alvin Harper. Can’t make the routine catch, but can make the acrobatic highlight catches with ease.

It will be interesting to see if he loses his captainship next season.

LOL.

He won't. He's very popular with his teammates.

It's amazing how much hate this guy gets, not just for his regression this year on the field but for the fact that off the field, he's upbeat and positive like 100% of the time. I guess fans want their players to be pissy and full of vinegar like we are?
