Yeah, really not all that bad. I think Hurns will add more than what people think. He is a good player, just not to the usuals liking.
I wish Crawford was more productive than he is, but he also does a lot to help other players that do not show up in the stats. The dirty work.
I like Hurns, but I thought with Beasley leaving that he would be the slot receiver this season. With us bringing in Cobb, we've essentially relegated him to fourth receiver, which is a position that also usually provides some special teams play. I think he's a good locker room presence and a good fallback in case on injury, but Hurns is simply getting paid too much for the role he's expected to play ... and I expect him to either take a pay cut or be cut if all of the receivers stay healthy.
I've always liked Crawford more than many on this board. He's that player you want to upgrade with a stud, but he ends up getting a lot of snaps at end and 3-tech because he's above average, which has mostly been better than our other options, such as Charlton. When we gave him this contract, we thought that he could be a stud 3-tech, but he's just not on that level. I'm not interested in doing anything about his deal, though, until someone cheaper proves to at least be on his level. He's a good player, and we need those until we find great ones.
