Just thought about this

55 mins, the Cowboys held the Skins in check and in five minutes, Roy Williams became a goat and persona non grata to the fans.

Fast forward three years...the Cowboys held the Steelers in check. Again controlling the game for 55 minutes, despite Romo's prior turnovers...and then in five minutes, the D folded and Romo became a goat.

It doesn't make dealing with the loss any easier. Just that the Steelers finish reminded me of the Skins finish.

I'm hoping that if nothing else we can still get to the playoffs despite the five losses. Yes, I know the 'boys are currently in based on today. They need to be in by the time they get to Philly.

It was that type of game for sure. It sucks but that's football. Move on and go 3-0 down the stretch to silence any doubters for at least 3 minutes.

well it is like a lot of our losses with this core group of guys.

We are always leading or tied in close tight games and then the other team makes one play and the momentum swings and this team finds a way to not respond.

All the way back to december of 03 when we had a small lead and were playing great defense against new orleans on the road in december and all of a sudden aaron brooks makes one throw and the team allowed that to turn into one score and we lose the game late.

its the same thing over and over. Its perplexing and frustrating as hell to watch. As fans of this team we have been through alot over the last 10 years. I mean, we cant complain this organization has done more than any other, but over the last 10 years we have nothing but heartache.

This team always loses this way and that is the problem. it drove parcells nuts and it has to be driving wade phillips nuts now.

3rd and long at arizona, henry misses a tackle and the cardinals get a first down and regain momentum and score and take the lead and we ultimately lose.

Same thing yesterday. that 3rd and 16 play on newman allowed the steelers to believe they could now make plays. Just like the 4th down against washington in 05 for the first td allowed the Commanders to believe. Just like the drive before the half in the playoff game last season. The testaverde fumble vs the steelers in 04. The terry glenn fumble in seattle in 06.

its an endless list. I could go on and on. When this team has control of a game, it only takes one play to make them go into a shell and allow the other team to start dictating to them. it happened again yesterday.

the worst part is it happens to our best players at critical times.

and as fans we will spend all our energy and emotion hoping it doesnt happen. But they need to shake this monkey off their back as soon as possible.

It reminds me of the Leon Lett game on Thanksgiving vs Miami in the snow.

The type of throws Romo was making reminded me of Bledsoe, @ Philly, in TO's 1st game back in Philly.

I couldn't have said it better myself. The part that hurts me the most is the lack og toughmess. I know every player that plays has a measure of toughness, but we always seem to fold when someone punches us hard and stands up to us. 2 situations that will haunt me till we get a real MAN on this team.

1. Can't remember the year. Jason Witten get concussed by Marcus washington at Washington a couple of years back. Witten is clearly out of bounds on our sideline and Washington clocks him. Not one Cowboy went to blows with Washington. Witten left the game and we lost a measure of our manhood. Someone has to grab some facemasks, push and shove. SOMETHING! You can't let your teammate go down like that, especially when it in front of your bench.

2. Haynesworth vs Gurode (see No. 1) Again, no one came to Gurodes defense. I don't care if no one saw the actual act. Once it was revealed that he stomped on Gurode's head, someone, anyone has to step up.

We have a team of cowards and it shows in crunchtime.

Wade and Garrett coached scared at the end of the game. After Newman got beat Wade went to mostly zone coverage and we just cannot play zones. This allowed Ben to get hot for the first time in the game and we never really got any momentum back.

Garrett also coached scared by running a tired Choice on 3rd and 5 when we could have stayed aggressive and got some momentum back.

With our history of defensive choke jobs I cannot believe Wade and Garrett decided to leave it into the hands of the defense to win this game.

this team is tough. Extremely tough. they just havent been able to take that monkey off their back of winning a game like that one late.

this team was loaded with injuries before they took the field yesterday and then had a ton of them during the game and they took it to them for 54 minutes.

Keith davis looks like he brok his ankle and you blink and he is back out there helping bradie james blow up a running play on 4th and goal from the 1.

I dont question this teams toughness or effort at all. And I think if they just keep putting the same effort in good things will come.

This is just a very testing time for this team and its fans. Pointing fingers wont help anyone. Blaming coaches wont help anyone. this team needs to line right back up with NY sunday night and give the same effort. If they do good things will happen.

and I happen to think if they can get these next two, this team might have some confidence in them that they can win these games.

All I ask is the effort stay the same. I am confident if it does the mental errors will decrease and the wins will come. the penalties have disappeared and with this team hopefully getting barber, jenkins and austin back this week, hopefully our fortunes will change.

It isnt time to jump ship.

I'll never jump ship, but I'm realistic. For 3 years now, I hear how the Cowboys lose a close one that htey dominated for most of the game. This gives Cowboy fans hope that the team realizes how close and good they are. The same effort comes out every game and I never question their effort, outside of the Rams game. But after losing those games, the players always tell the media how sick they are and how they let one get away. We (fans) then come out with hopes that the players get it and are focused, but we never really do! They come out with effort until the other team makes a play in the 4th and we wilt. Every team plays with injuries. We have had our share this year, but what about the past 2-3 years when we were healthy for the most part. We still folded under pressure. The mentality has to change and now!
