I'm prepared to take a beating for my comments however, hear me out and let me know your thoughts on the scenarios I've noted.
Right now, we are odds on likely to finish as the 5th seed. We got a shot at the 1 seed which is clearly the goal so yes, play hard and aim high but it is stacked against us so I'm trying to be a realist and trying to think ahead.
some assumptions..........if we play Tampa in the WC and win, we will play the Eagles at their place (assuming no other wild card shocks) with a week of rest for them so that's a tough task.
My train of thought is do we take a week (even 2 weeks) "bye" from the Titans and Football team so we at least play Tampa fresh?
Now, I'm not saying hand the East to the Eagles, if we beat Jacksonville and the Eagles, then play hard to the end of the regular season but if we do fail to win against either of these 2, accept the 5th seed and take a mini-break?
Just listening to Parsons talk about being beat up, seeing injuries to players makes me believe the rest is better for the players than the "they'll go soft / get rusty" debate.
We have a good roster, 2023 should be a chance too but I just feel this year is the year to break that hoodoo yet I think 3 hard road games on the back of a 17 game season is going to be incredibly difficult to pull off so it we can't get the 1 seed, rest up and hit the playoffs after a recharge of the batteries.
Thoughts?
