The hit rate on these picks seems to be very low with teams often having very little to show for selections in those rounds. Of course if you get a late round hit it’s really cheap labor.

I am wondering if it might be better to use those late round draft picks to trade for middle of the road players that would work for the Cowboys but are not a great fit on their current teams, unless the Cowboys see particular late round value in a particular draft.

Begs to wonder why the Jones' are infatuated with comp picks.

The Bears 7th round RB out of Rutgers tore up the Eagles . Bland was a later round pick . The current Cowboy LT , Nate Thomas 7th rounder . You have to have good scouting

Is it good scouting or bad scouting. a good scout would of known they were gonna be good and got them drafted earlier. JK....

Economics
Occasional hit rate
Trade bait

There is value within these picks

I think we should trade away all our picks for players and then the Jones' can go on vacation early.

Thomas and Bland played like late round picks last night

Going into next season i bring them back over Sam Williams Murray Mingo guys like that drafted higher .
Possibly but Bland making a lot of damn money. But could be defense style he is being asked to play now that is part of his issues

The thing about Bland did you notice Revel & Bell were constantly picked on . At this point Bland is by far the best CB on the roster teams tend to throw away from him .

I wouldn't mind and i'm about safety

There are players every draft who contribute for teams drafted in the 5th to 7th rounds, Dallas just has to draft better in those rounds. Cowboys have some hits, so keep swinging, that's better than trading for a failed Kenneth Murray.
