Truth be told, Aaron Rodgers vs. his own division is probably equally silly.

Detroit and Minnie have decent D's compared to most of what Luck faces. Chicago's D stinks. But then Rodgers is probably the best QB currently playing so he should be pretty good against everyone.

2. Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
...............
38. Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys

Romo was as good if not better than Rodgers last season. He should have been the MVP. Given the statistical dead heat and the success both teams enjoyed, how can Rodgers possibly be 37 spots ahead of Romo?

Here’s the numbers from last season.

113.2 Passer rating for Romo, the top mark in the NFL for the 2014 season and a Dallas franchise record. Rodgers had the second-highest rating at 112.2. Rodgers completed 341-of-520 passes for 4,381 yards and 38 touchdowns with five interceptions. Romo completed 304-of-435 passes for 3,705 yards and 34 touchdowns with nine interceptions.

5 Game-winning drives were led by Romo during the 2014 regular season. Rodgers had one game-winning drive in 2014. 11 Completions on 15 passes for Romo with the Cowboys trailing in the final four minutes of games during the 2014 season. In that situation, Romo threw for 120 yards, seven first downs and three touchdowns without an interception. Rodgers threw only six passes in the final four minutes of games with the Packers trailing. He went 2-for-6 for 19 yards and one first down with no interceptions and no touchdowns.

5 Of Rodgers' 10 fumbles were lost by Green Bay during the 2014 season. Romo fumbled seven times, and Dallas lost two of them. With their interceptions, Rodgers had 10 turnovers and Romo 11 during the 2014 season.

7.8 Percent of Romo's passes resulted in touchdowns during the 2014 regular season, the best mark in the NFL. Rodgers came in second at 7.3 percent.

8.5 Yards gained per pass for Romo, the best average in the 2014 season. Rodgers had the second-best average at 8.4 yards per pass.

Third-down passer rating: Rodgers 121.7. Romo 119.4.

12 TD passes and one interception were thrown by Romo in four December games, all victories, as the Cowboys overtook the Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC East title. Romo had a 133.7 passer rating in December, the best ever for a quarterback who threw at least 100 passes in the 12th month. Rodgers had six TD passes and two interceptions and a 94.8 passer rating in December.

14 TD passes thrown by Romo during the 2014 season gave the Cowboys the lead when they trailed or were tied. Rodgers had 12 TD passes during the 2014 season that gave the Packers the lead when they trailed or were tied.

20 TD passes and two interceptions were thrown in road games by Tony Romo during the 2014 season as Dallas swept its eight away games. Romo had a 121.8 passer rating in road games.

69.9 Percent of Romo's passes were completed during the 2014 regular season, the best rate in the NFL. Rodgers completed 65.6 percent of his passes, ninth in the NFL in 2014.

OVerall for their careers you have to give Rodgers a clear edge - but there is no way he is 36 spots better than Romo. And Rodgers has a very glaring weakness in that he is frankly terrible at 4th quarter comebacks compared to Romo.

I love Tyron, and you know me I'm not big on stats, I care about winning only. But I'm sorry JJ cannot be found. Take your blue glasses off and really think about it.

The Cowboys 1st, 2nd and 3rd priorities are keping Romo healthy. They could have the greatest defense in history and are not going to win with Weeden playing QB.

Tyron is the most important player i regards to keeping Romo healthy.

I agree that you can on rare occasion find a great OT in free agency. The Jags did it this year.

I'm sorry, but Luck doesn't belong anywhere in the top 30 players, much less the 6th. I'm growing tired of the media's insistent narrative that he is a top-3 QB.

Romo at 38 is laughable. Dude should have won MVP last year and he's 38th.

If all the teams broke up right now and there was a redraft tomorrow, Romo would be long gone by 38.

That is a good way of looking at it

I think the turnover (specifically fumble stats) stats in the article you referenced may be incorrect.

NFL.com has Rodgers with only 7 turnovers (5 picks, 2 lost fumbles) vs 40 TDs (38 passing, 2 rushing) and Romo 12 turnovers (9 picks, 3 lost turnovers) and 34 TDs (34 passing, 0 rushing).

That puts Rodgers's 2014 season at a 5.71 to 1 touchdown to turnover ratio and Romo at a 2.83 to 1 touchdown to turnover ratio which is almost a 2x delta.

I think you a make perfectly valid arguments for Dez or Gronk being slightly better than the other.

Dez is one of the top 2 WRs in the league right now. Gronk is the top TE in NFL history on a per game statistical basis.

People sometime forget how truly great Gronk is because he is such a good off the field, but his stats are eye-boggling.

As an example over his career Gronk has caught more TDs per game than Dez Bryant -- which is crazy to think about it.

Thats funny considering Dez has scored more TDs then any other player since sinning into the league.......not including QBs

Dez has scored more TDs (56 of them) since he entered the league in 2010 -- more than any other player.

Gronk has scored 52 TDs since 2010, however, since he has missed so many games, his TDs per game (.80) is higher than Dez's (.74).

Minor distinction, however, I think it's noteworthy.

I understand now but those games he missed is another chance to have a game without a td. Thanks for pointing that out, I was wrong
