We just need 6 players!

3 DL, 1 safety, 1 big physical RB, 1 OG

Selvie is a capable starter if he has a stud on the other side or a beast inside to draw attention.

Rather than go with a 5-10 180 lb RB we need a 6-1 220 lb back that can stay healthy and get tough yards.

Also an Iupati type guard would be nice for the long haul.

Not to mention a new gm and coaching staff.

CB, S, DE, DT, OG, maybe another T. Not worried about a RB although I want Dunbar to get some snaps and stay healthy. I'd love a John Riggins but they're not easy to find.

Lacy was there in the 2nd round -- but they chose to take a 3rd string TE instead.

TBH I was surprised by that although I like Escobar. I was more surprised Lacy was there. People just aren't spending draft picks on RBs for the most part. Too many busts and relatively easy to find lower round picks. That's my philosophy anyway.

Lacy had a slew of injuries at Alabama and he dropped out of the 1st round because of the injury red flag.

He looks awfully good right now, however, if he ends up not being reliable that he is no different than Murray.

You're forgetting TE, WR and DE after we release/trade away Witten, Dez and Ware this week.

I'm saying it's going to be hard to beat good teams on the road when you don't have the tools to stop a deep ball or get a consistent pass rush or grind clock in crunch time.

Garrett's done fairly well in building a roster the last 3 years. But the injuries the last 2 yrs have held us back from fully cashing in on the development.

I think the reality of the situation is that there is no way these six players can be put on the roster with the cap problems next year. The window is closed. Jerry gambled on this core and came up short. They should have blown the team up before signing Romo to the big contract.

When Bill Parcells announced his surprise retirement in early 2007, one of the major NFL information guys quoted Jerry Jones as saying, "we can have fun again," intimating that his level of joy had greatly diminished in the years that the Tuna ran the show.

Six and a half seasons on, and the question has to be asked, "are you having fun?"

I agree. I think we all need to understand the injury bug is here to stay. Players are in professional shape all year round and I mean professional. The result is dense, big, and very fast players who are colliding with energies high enough to create injuries all too often. So the key to winning is having playmakers, keeping them on the field, and having the depth to field a competitive team all year long esp around the playoffs. The rest of the keys to winning will always be a constant.

Agreed, with DT and OG being at the top of that list.
