6th Round pick Sam Young

1st pick I dont like too much.

Strictly a RT, going to struggle to make it in the NFL.

Not a bad pick. He'll be fine.

Young, Sam OT 6'8" 316 Notre Dame 4.7 --

Brandon Graham said he is the OT that gave him the most trouble.

50 starts at Notre Dame, was the top tackle prospect coming out of high school, but never developed into the top prospect people thought he would.

Well, we need a backup RT, no?

It's unusual for Dallas to take a interest in a RT that cant provide depth somewhere else along the OL.

Not that all that angry with the pick. Just think he is going to struggle in the NFL. Career backup at best

Young was a blue chip prospect, out of Florida, that became an instant starter his freshman year and has been a mainstay on the offensive line for the Irish. He is a massive blocker with long arms that can simply engulf opponents once he gets his hands on them. He lacks top initial quickness and can be beaten off the edge by explosive edge rushers. While he has started at both left tackle and on the right side he is best suited to be a right tackle in the NFL.

is he any good???

I'm a big ND fan, and was one of the few bright spots on a very suspect line. Right tackle. Not great, but hopefully serviceable at the next level.

And please, just because he's a big red-headed OL, don't go crazy with the Pat McQuistan comparisons.

We got our OL, does that stop the whining? I kid...........

Listening to Norm, this guy will be lucky if he sticks on the practice squad. Not inspiring at all. Maybe a Star on the helmet will improve his play.

How does he mesh w/Brewster?

First pick I have not liked...but I am not going to complain.

It's a 6th rounder pick that is probably just going to be camp fodder.

No problem with the pick for me. There are some linemen I like better but not a bad pick

He may be McQuistan's replacement.

I was looking at his profile last night and I skipped him on purpose. Looks like he's not going to be flexible enough to play the position and why I prefer Ramon Harewood

Assuming they bring back Flo or someone to play LT, this could be competition for the scum we already have on the team...
