If you can give a more descriptive term than "Pizza" or "Burger" such as... Mama Mia's Pizza or BK Whopper that would be great!

Oh and please tell us if the food item is from a local business.

Not in any particular order.

  1. Buffalo Wings. (not the fake crappy buffalo sauce either, Frank's Wing Sauce)
  2. Chorizo (doesn't matter what it's an ingredient of, it's BOSS)
  3. Jambalaya (my homemade version)
  4. A great Chicken Fried Steak with good gravy.
  5. Ribeye Steak (sous vide to medium, then seared over a fire)
  6. Frito Pie (made with my homemade Chili)
  7. Chicken Romano (my homemade or any really good one)
  8. Pasta Mardi Gras from Pappadeaux (don't have Pappadeaux up here, so I am forced to live without it)

French Fries
Panjo's Pizza Rockport, Texas
Steak
Jalepenos
Chili Cheese Fritos
Elbow macaroni with tomato sauce
Cinnamon rolls

None of these are any good for you so I rarely have them. Moderation is the key.

Gotta say the Frito Pie sounds good!

The elbow mac & tomato sauce– Are you talking like goulash?

Just plain elbow macaroni and Hunts regular tomato sauce, salt and pepper. It harks back to when I was growing up and we had little money. But it's very good.

We did that when we were kids.

Also had elbows with milk & butter (plus salt & pepper) for breakfast.

1. Char-grilled Gulf Coast oysters. It's what God or Staubach would eat.
2. Tacos, don't care which. Beef, chicken, steak, shrimp, octopus, dog, feral cat, just as long as it's in taco shape.
3. Pizza without the works. Plain cheese, Margherita, pepperoni, just don't throw the garden on it.
4. Fried venison backstrap with cream gravy. Man food!
5. Sandwiches. Preferably French dip, Italian grinder, cheeseburger, or a good club.
6. BBQ, made by me. Traditional Texas trinity brisket, sausage & spare ribs.
7. Chili cheese dogs from Der Weinerschnitzel. Nothing to write home about really but at $0.69 in college I ate so many that I think I've become dependent on them. A couple a week keeps the shakes away.

Shrimp - Fried, grilled, sautéed, bacon wrapped…
Chicken Fried Steak - my wife's being the best
Homemade Macaroni and Cheese - don't skimp on the cheese
Pizza - plenty of cheese and meat. Thin crust. Too much bread detracts from the toppings
Bacon
Steak - Ribye or Tenderloin
Pork ribs - several places in Texas. Cooper's Old Time Pit BBQ in Llano, Franklin's BBQ in Austin and Salt Lick in Dripping Springs to name a few

Any special place for the prime rib?

Around here it varies so darned much... From OK to well... Really, really good.

I've found that it takes very little maybe a little less seasoning, maybe a little more time on grill to knock a prime rib down a notch or two.

My wife's...this: chicken, brown rice, refried beans, salsa verde, asadero cheese, served with tostadas, jalapenos, and lime
My wife's mole (boiled chicken with mole sauce and jalapeno, served with brown rice)
My wife's jalapenos stuffed with melted asadero cheese and wrapped in bacon
My own gringo burritos (Knorr Spanish rice, ground beef, Pace picante sauce, onion, black beans, sharp cheddar, Mission flour tortilla)
Sopapillas with powdered sugar and honey from Jorge's Cafe in Ruidoso NM
Chicago Dog from Devil Dawgs, State St., Chicago
Steak fajitas from El Rancho Grande, Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico

I love pizza, and still haven't found the perfect pizza. Suggestions?

Overcooking is probably the biggest problem I find with prime rib. I find I hit on about 50% as good or better when I order it. I don't really go to any special place for the experience, but typically stay away from it at weddings, hotels and buffets.
