This thread is irrelevant. You pay a player based on what you believe they’re going to produce in the FUTURE. Their previous play is a factor, but I think that’s why you’re seeing guys like Lawrence and Tua getting paid big money; they’re young and the organizations believe they’re only going to get better. You can’t say the same for Prescott, who has undoubtedly reached his peak.
Your opinion is irrelevant. It only matters what Jerry wants to do.

Do you make it a habit to enter and comment in irrelevant threads? That's strange, dude.

So, there are currently 8 QBs who make at least $50 million a year.............lets take a look at what these 8 guys have done in the playoffs.

Burrow (55).........lost a SB
Lawrence (55)........has 1 career playoff win, if you can even call it that (threw 4 picks in that win)
Love (55)................has 1 career playoff win, you guessed it, the curb stomping of Dallas.
Tua (53)..................has 0 career playoff wins
Goff (53)..............lost a SB
Herbert (52)............has 0 career playoff wins
Lamer (52).............has reached Conference Finals and lost
Hurts (51).............lost a SB

1. Out of these 8 guys, only three have ever made it to a SB and they all lost (Burrow, Goff, Hurts).
2. One guy has made it to the Conference Title Game and he lost (Lamar Jackson)
3. Two guys have exactly 1 career playoff victory in Love and Lawrence, but Lawrence needs an * because he threw 4 picks in that "playoff win".
4. The other two guys have put up goose eggs in the playoffs, Tua and Herbert.

I think this thread clearly demonstrates that playoff success is not a requirement to be among the highest paid QBs in the league.

Uh-ohhhh.... so if Dak is "a bum, below average, etc" and he was part of winning 2 playoff games (not great) and he was All-Pro and an MVP candidate WITHOUT a functioning running game..... then what does that make THESE quarterbacks with less or ZERO playoff wins and they have better running games then Dak???

Can't wait to see the hypocrisy and spin jobs on THIS!!!

How strong was their surrounding cast?
How many playoff wins do they have?
Herbert has had absolutely horrible surrounding casts but clearly if he had better talent, the skills are there, so pay is based on skills more than records.

Nahhh.... I don't want to hear the excuses. People here on this board said good quarterbacks are supposed to elevate the talent around them. So sweep those excuses back under the rug. He's a first round selected quarterback who has ZERO playoff wins.

It’s an internet sports forum where we comment because we provide opinions. If you can’t handle it, then hit the bricks. Strange response, dude.

Why are you mad bro? Are you Tad?

Here's the deal. Dak is older than all the guys getting new contracts. Dak got his in 2020 and it is comparable with inflation to some of the 1st extension contracts QB's are getting now. The problem with Dak is he's had almost a decade of chances. The Cowboys have been totally fair in giving him his "shot". Problem is, the dude freezes when the lights come on. He pee's down his leg. No matter how much you refuse to admit it, the statistics are there, the evidence is overwhelming.

Get over it.

Run game wasn’t great but hard to say dak was without a functional run game. Dallas was middle of the pack in yards and yards per attempt. They were a top 10 team in rush yards after contact, top half of the league in yards before contact. Top half in broken tackle rates. Top half in rushing 1st downs. Dallas was a pretty average team running the football in 2023. The issue is outside of a few really strong rushing teams running the football all over the league was down this year.

You tagged me but apparently you're talking to the wrong person because I'm not mad about anything. I've also never refused to admit anything..... so learn how to post without lying on those you intend to address.

That's not a good look.

With that said. I could be wrong, but I don't believe I've mentioned Dak's name in anything.... what I DID say is, on this board.... many people have said that a good quarterback elevates the talent around them.

So according to what was said, you're giving a bunch of excuses for Herbert. They felt he was talented enough to select in the first round for a reason, so Herbert need to play up to his draft status and make the talent around him better.

That can't be the standard for 2 or 3 quarterbacks and the others get excuses made for them.

That's the standard for ALL quarterbacks.

Kind of a lie.. I didn't tag you. I just replied to one of your posts because you've been boo-hooing all over this thread.

This is your post, seems like a Dak name mention to me. I should've replied to that post but my thoughts are the same.

Again, get over it....

Can you prove my opinion is irrelevant? Can you prove your opinion matters more than yours?
If you can read correctly. I said it only matters what Jerry thinks.

You are welcome to your opinion. It is still irrelevant.

And again, where did I "boo-hoo"? Tag... reply... rebuttal.... whatever you want to call it, you lied. I said or did nothing that you accused me of.

Then ya weak *** did it again. Where and how did I Boo hoo by asking those if an All-Pro, MVP quarterback with 2 playoff wins is a bum or below average.... what does that make the other quarterbacks with less accomplishments.

How in the world is that question boo hooing? Do me these favors if you want a serious conversation kid.

1. Stop lying and putting words in my mouth that I didn't say.

2. How is asking that question about other quarterbacks boo hooing? I'm trying to find out what higher paid quarterbacks with less accomplishments than Dak are considered if he's a bum after winning more playoff games than they did, and became an All-Pro and MVP candidate without a functioning running game. How is that boo hooing?

3. If Dak is a bum and below average.... what are those other quarterbacks considered being paid more and having accomplished less?

If you want to have a legit conversation with me answer those last 2 questions for me please..... Thanks in advance!!

LOL I just replied my man. You were the one that said I "tagged" you. It's a forum-- simple, reply/response. This is 30 year old internet tech. We generally aren't "tagging" anyone for the world to see or worry about it. Loosen up man.

1. Zero words put in your mouth. Just seems you are hyper-Dak in your defense. All the other QB mentioned by the OP are poo-poo in your eyes compared to Dak. Ok, fine.

2. Said you were boo-hooing because you went off about Dak not having the running games you think he needs. Hopefully you can take it into consideration that Dak had the BEST OL in the league his rookie year and the NFL rushing champ that same year. What happened? He needs perfection every season?? Just wonderin....?

3. Dak signed his extension contract in 2020. That was 4+ years ago. Inflation is a thing yano? That's like $200mil now. He'd make $50. These guys are getting 1st year extension at the same rate Dak did. He's just older than them. Why are you angry about price changes??

Dont go overboard here....

What Rookie QB win a SB?
You asking me? Why? No rookie has won a SB. About 35% have been won by #1 draft picks though. What is your point? Are you worried if Dallas had a rookie, there would be no chance at a SB? Well...right now with all the evidence given there is no chance for one with a 9+ season player. So who cares really?

Guess what? Everything you fallaciously claimed is YOUR OPINION as well. You’re just irrelevant in general because your opinion means zero to me.

You've answered none of my questions..... you've lied on me again.... its cool my guy.

I said nothing about a price change or show any anger about a price change.... yes I mentioned something about the running game. I mentioned that Dak became an All-Pro and in MVP considerations WITHOUT a running game.

Again... You're making stuff up about me and you're not answering simple questions like an adult. I give up man, you win.
