At this point of the season I envisioned us as an 8-4 team from a subjective standpoint since my love for this team is at a high level.

I rarely start threads on here. I find myself reading through everyone's take on things and I wanted to drop a take of my own.

Season:
Thus far, we have played as a cohesive bunch on all sides of the ball. This is why you will see a different player involved in a key play that turns a game around. For instance, Wilber's ST play that resulted in us taking a lead is what you see championship teams do.

Level of competition:
We keep hearing how we haven't faced a formidable opponent yet I see our last four wins versus teams vying for a playoff spot. Despite the obstacles that stand in our way we find ways to win. In recent memory we would see the exact opposite. This is not a shot at anyone, it's just merely stating a fact. This season I have felt confident game after game on how we will close out.

QB situation:
Dak earned the spot and I love how we still have Romo in case something were to happen to Dak. I love how these two show more class in handling the situation more than most fans did. Romo is gone after this season and I wish him all the best wherever he goes.

NYG
Yes, they get a category on here. We have to beat these guys. I want to see another NFC East teams sink out of contention and we can play a big part in that. The bigger picture in our matchup will be our improvements as a team from weak one. This is the game that this team needs under its belt rolling into the playoffs.

Gregory/pass rush
We need him this season. Whatever demons he chasing is something he'll have to face one on one. As far as his play, he has the POTENTIAL to help our pass rush over J. Crawford and Mayowa. As much as we want to criticize Lawrence we need to do him justice and compliment the opposite side. We failed to do this with Ware and now that he has an effective pass rusher in Denver in Miller on the opposite side he is being more impactful since his arrival there. Without pressure from both sides the opposing offense will just slide protection schemes to Lawrence's side.

Playoffs
It feels good to know we are in the playoffs after a dreadful '15. I hear alot of talk about not having a legitimate pass rush will be our downfall and that will leave us short of being a SB winner. I see comparisons to our '91 team that wasn't quite ready. In today's NFL a '91 Cowboys team can win a SB. I have faith that this team will be hoisting that Lombardi when all is said and done. We have an offense that wears down defenses and slowly takes their will. We have players making plays throughout the season that you would see in a championship type of team. Our resilience has been tested and we've passed it many times as a team. I have no doubt that'll still be the case on this wonderful journey of 2016.

In the end we find ourselves sitting on top of the NFL for a reason. Continuing to play our style of football on all ends will leave us in the same state in February.

Hope I didn't bore anyone. Just felt the need to post a few thoughts. Enjoy my fellow zoners!!

Good point on Ware not having a pass rusher on the other side when he was here.

Always nice to read someone post about how the team does or does not perform overall--and not just comment about one or two players.

would love to have Gregory back on the right side, move D-LAW back to the left side with Crawford back at DT.
Yes on DLaw and Gregory. I'm not sure on Crawford. I don't really want to take snaps away from Collins or Irving at DT. Collins clogs up the run better than Crawford and Irving flashed more big play ability.

Crawford is really good against the run as a LDE.
