We have the most in the league? It’s weird because it feels like, on the whole, the Cowboys have played more disciplined than in years past.

This team would nearly be unstoppable if they even cut it down by 2-3 penalties per game.

When Zack Martin gets called for a holding you know the refs are tipping their cap to being involved in the game...don't read too much into this esp since Roger is our commissioner... you see the treatment Zeke got for a phantom abuse charge and OBJ was sniffing diet coke off a stripper and he was fine... i'm sure they will penalize him for that as soon as he signs here

...I know, its weird and still we carry winning record. MM has to get everyone to clean up some areas.

Remember, WC last year?. Penalties killed us.

Honestly a large part of this is dependent on the officials and how they're trying to manage the game, keeping it "competitive", placating the home crowd, protecting the star QBs, etc. There's offensive and defensive holding on every play, there's illegal contact and interference on every play, there are "picks" on the passing plays. They usually don't have to fabricate penalties, they're happening on nearly every play, they just apply the rules unevenly to get the desired results.

The coaches are teaching them to do these things as discretely as possible but in the end the officials can still see everything.

Philbin GB system he brought to Cowboys encourages holding.

And McCarthy made some HUGE promises in offseason that penalties would be cleaned up this season.

He was questioned point blank about penalty ridden preseason and he seriously stated that preseason was not same as regular season.

But here we are.

Same shyte as last season, leading NFL in penalties.

Yet again.

Postseason will be ugly if this is not cleaned up.

It’s only been few games but they racked up a lot in those games. This has to be reduced before the regular season ends.

This is what destroyed our chances at victory in the playoff game vs the 49ers. Not Dak, not Zeke, but all of the damn penalties. Guess what.... this trend in penalties will be our downfall in the playoffs again if it isn't addressed.

It's why I consider this team to be pretenders. We all know what will happen in January...the mental mistakes will get them beat. McCarthy does some good things for the team overall but emphasizing limiting penalties is not one of them.

A lot of these penalties can be cleaned up such as false start in our own End Zone at home, which seems to happen every home game at least two drives.

Holding on special teams can be fixed. If we're going to fair catch the ball why in the hell are we holding? How many times do we get pinned half the distance to the goal because someone did something stupid?

These can absolutely be fixed. It's a lack of concentration.

In 18 games last year - the regular season 17 + 1 playoff - the Cowboys had 141 penalties for 1192 yards.

Already for 2022, Dallas has racked up 83 penalties for 626 yards = 59% of 2021's total number of infractions, and 52% of last season's yardage assessed.....and the team still has six more regular season games left.

I'm thinking a few really bad games penalty-wise (like yesterday) inflated this number since I don't think penalties have been has big a problem this year.

Of course it's so expected after every big play yesterday I waited a few seconds to make sure the yellow "FLAG" marker didn't show up at the bottom of the screen too.

right it was that bad we were doing the same thing..Odd though they luv to call it onus but eat th flag on many Lamb holding calls and once again and offsides and more holding on our DL not called. if you going to call them, call them evenly or let them play!!!

well the Seattle seahawks won their last SB leading the league in penalties..while we need to clean it up for sure, its not a death sentence.
