they would have STEAMROLLED the bears and 9ers.... our o-line would have knocked the snot outta that bear defense - i have NO doubt!.... the triplets would have had they're way....

as for the 9ers - remember, they BARELY beat cincy - OVERRATED!

You're thinking of the 88 49ers that went 10-6 and got hot in the playoffs. The 89 team went 14-2 and beat the dog out of everybody in the playoffs- they were a really good team. They would be a tough team for anybody to have beaten-I'm not saying the 92 Cowboys wouldn't- it would be a good game.

I was laughing my *** off when Irvin was talking about the slant to Harper in the championship game.

"I run my route, turn around to make the catch, and there's Alvin running down the field with my football!"

Classic. :lmao2:

it was the best coached OL ever probably

but they had the benefit of blocking for Emmitt and Aikman

nobody thought guys like John Gesek, Nate Newton and Mark Tuinei were elite talents...we got those guys basically off the scrap heap and Tony Wise coached them up...Tuinei wasnt even drafted as OL...Gesek we got for peanuts from Oakland...Newton was a USFL reject who had already been cut by one NFL team (Skins)

Judging offensive linemen is sketchy at best. One can be a pro-bowler on one team and a second string reject on another. There are very few that dominate everywhere they go. Dallas' offensive line in '92 was one of the best lines ever. That doesn't mean all five where the best to play the game, it just means as a cohesive they were one of the most dominating groups. From Step's low center of gravity giving him incredible levrage on guys much larger than him to Newton's uncanny ability to pull. Then you had the meanest offensive lineman of all time in Erik Willaims who would dominate the late great Reggie White. It's like the Cowboys defense in a sense. #1 defense yet couldn't send anyone to the pro-bowl.

Watched late last night. Fantastic. I was really impressed.

I loved Nortan's take on How Bout Dem Cowboys!
That how I used it.
If I had a dollar for every how bout dem cowboys that came out my mouth.
Where I'm from that translates to **!

I'll never forget the NFC Championship postgame when Jimmy dropped that on America!

I just watched the show.

As I said this morning, it will NEVER be that good for Cowboy fans again. That is the mountaintop.

Wow! What a team and what a coach!! I'm just thankful i had the priviledge of enjoying that season. I would drive to the Sports Bar every sunday afternoon to watch them play and as the season went on you just knew something special was brewing.

Anyone who thinks there are 4 teams that could beat that team is out of their mind.

To be honest, I was surprised to see that team ranked that high.
Can you imagine if they used the same panel that inducts players into the Hall of Fame?
We wouldn't have had a team in the top 20!
When this thing was announced, I assumed we had one, maybe two teams ranked. No way we'd even be in the top 10!

I'd like to know who made up the panel. For once we got a fair shake.

Funny thing is there's not one of us who would rank the 92 team over the 93 team.
I'm glad they chose the 92 team. Much much better story! You got the whole rebuilding project storyline in their.

But I guess you could make the arguement that the 1992 was more accomplished if not more talented.
They did win one more game and had a larger margin of victory in the playoffs.
And of course finishing off the year with a 52-17 score doesn't hurt either.

Members of the panel were asked to rank their top 10 Super Bowl teams and the NFL Network compiled the rankings to produce the top 20 teams. To see who voted, click this link http://ag.nfl.com and then click The Blue Ribbon Panel.

Richard Gosselin from DMN was on the panel.

I was surprised - and elated - that the 92 team was ranked that high also. I can live with that and can understand how the 89 Niners (15-1), 85 Bears (15-1), 78 Steelers (14-2) and 72 Dolphins (14-0) would be listed higher.

That 92 team was special from the Triplets to the Shark to Novacek to Haley to the spare parts on defense to Jimmy Johnson.

I like the confidence Jimmy Johnson exuded and his willingness to win the game not play to lose. My, that is such a refreshing departure from what most teams do.

I especially like the part where he's interviewed about the Cowboys not making the playoffs and Jimmy Johnson looks sternly and says, "We will make the playoffs."

I don't think any other coach would have taken that young but immensely talented team to the Super Bowl.

That's why Jimmy remains a legend around these parts.

I still think the 93 team was better... but like Irvin said the first one is always sweetest!

I think the 92 Boys would take the 85 Bears... They had a better year than they were a better team! They would have needed the 46 to stop Emmitt and they have no answer for Irvin!

89 9ers were perfect in everyway! Montana would have rolled them with his checks at the line... I'm just glad Joe was on the bench in the 92 NFCC!!!

i understand why they would put the undefeated Dolphins team ahead of us but let's get real... the 1992 Cowboys would beat them by three TD's head to head. What did their D-Line weigh? 245 pounds each? Our O-Line would blow them off the ball 6 yards on every snap.

Yeah that was a good one.

You forget with the passage of time just how good that team was. The screw up at home against the Rams cost them home field that year.

The stories about Jimmy leaving Michael and Troy behind were also good ones.
