I got to watch the first half of the 95 Superbowl today while grabbing some lunch in a pub. Had Dallas and Pittsburgh and was great to watch.

That game had Larry Allen playing and he was mauling people. He sent Gregg Loyd flying on a trap play. The rest of the OL was playing the same way and they showed a graphic of the Dallas OL being the biggest in the NFL.

The Steeler defense was stocked with talent, Greene, Loyd, Woodson, Lake others and while they made some plays in the passing game, they got pushed around.

I forgot about Sanders playing WR too...wonder who's idea that was?

Great to see that today.

Nice win for the Cowboys. The one that sealed the dynasty for us. Crazy part about it was they were a shell of the teams that one the 2 superbowls before it.

They got pushed around early, then pretty much shut the cowboys running game down.

I agree. The 1995 team was nowhere near the 92/93 teams in terms of talent.

I know, i got to watch it live back in the day but today I only watched the part where they looked great.

You could see how pissed the Chin was at watching his D give it up so you know he changed something up. Barry was over on the other side ready to party by halftime however. :)

Cower gets alot of credit for pulling the surpise onside kick and changing the momentum but in the end 2 picks by larry brown sealed the deal. Very easy picks i might add. I beleive we had lost 20 25 players between 93 and 95. free agency had just started and we got hammered.

I'm just so thankful the Steelers had a very average QB like Neil O'Donnell playing for them that day.

The 95 superbowl brings back a lot of memories. I was a fifth grader at lanai elementary school in hawaii. My 5th grade teacher was all the way from pittsburg and it was her first year teaching on lanai. Throughout the whole week prior to the superbowl she kept on bragging about how legendary and great the steelers were and that they were going to kick the cowboys ***! Well the following monday she was devastated and she sent me and my best friend to the principles office for detention because we would not stop rubbing it in!

That is the only reason we won.

Donaldson was getting tired and that was a big part of the problem; the guy was ancient. Very good but he wore out in the second half. LA was still mauling people but the rest of the line was pretty much stymied on run plays. Pitt had a real tough Run D.

O'Donnell gets killed (and rightfully so), but almost every Steeler from that time says that he was the victim of extremely poor route-running on both picks.

I'm not complaining, though.

Yep. He was made to be the goat but after further review he read the coverages right, the WR didn't.

Who cares who those nasty stealers had playing for them and how bad Dallas played in the second half. Game was 17 years ago, Dallas won and the Stealers lost and it took the chin what 10 years to get back and win?

Screw Pittsburgh, hope Dallas grows some balls today plays like they are capable of and destroys Ruthlessraper and his team.

Yup. I remember they shut the cowboys down in the second half and switzer was pathetic adjusting to it. When the steelers got within 3 points and had the ball late in the 4th I was sick to my stomach cause I knew they would take the lead...thank The Lord for o'donnell that day haha.

I remember going to cowboys and titans game in '02 and o'donnell came into the game an injured Steve McNair and Texas stadium gave Neil a warm welcome haha.

was this on the NFL Network? If so im disappointed i missed it

I always got the vibe that the league wanted the steelers to win that game. All the hype seemed to focus on them and even the championship video highlights released later were mainly from the steelers perspective of the game with the camera stuck on cowher's ugly mug 90% of the time.

I was at a super bowl party and everyone in the room was rooting for the steelers. They were all going crazy when it was 20-17 and Pitt was driving. Then all of the sudden O'Donnell threw that pic to Larry Brown and the room turned silent except for me. When the Cowboys scored to make it 27-17 my cousin who is a Steelers fan turned white as a ghost :)

I was watching the game at my brothers house & we had a friend over who was a 49ers fan & he was laughing when the Steelers got within 3 saying "This is great. Cowboys are about to lose." We ragged on him for the entire year after that. Heh. :D
