Let's say the Giants draft a good QB like Shedeur

I don’t think Dak can make it to another contract, this will be his last.
This will likely be his last contract with the Cowboys. He would have to win a SB to see another extension. Don’t see that happening.

I'd love to have the Cowboys face Shedeur twice a year. He'd run home to daddy before the season was over.

Dak has beaten the Giants like 13 straight times.
Dallas always beats the Giants because they are a terrible team. It's not Dak specific. Rush beat them the last two times as well. As soon as the Giants get better that will change. Like it did with Philly.

I'm actually more interested in what if Sanders falls to Dallas. Would they pull the trigger or play it safe?

Dak will be in his mid-30s and a 14 year player once his current contract expires. If he gets another deal, here or anywhere else, it will be FAR cheaper regardless of his postseason success or lack thereof.

It won’t likely be cheaper if he’s coming off a SB win when his current deal is up. QBs salaries will continue to climb.

If Milton doesn't work out, we will be at the top of the draft board next year. Grabbing a franchise quarterback finally, after 30 years of futility.
I'd like to believe you but all indications are that this franchise will move heaven and earth in order to stay out of the top of the draft,,, it's no mans land for us.

The Eagles and Commanders have good and young QBs already. Dak was expensive but if he can play well for 3 or 4 more years, the other teams are going to have to give massive contracts to their QB.

If Dak only makes it 1 or 2 years Dallas will be stuck with the Cap but with those likely losing seasons, I could see them landing a top 5 pick and drafting their own rookie all star QB, so that kind of levels things out. So I think Dallas should build the team as though a rookie QB is coming in 2-3 years. Thoughts?
Sanders will quickly expose himself for the mediocre, entitled QB that he is. Without the surname he is nothing special.

Gee, no Arch Manning next year, what are we gonna do.
Arch has the name, but is he any good ??????????
If so, whole nfl should tank and try to get him !

Jones boys wont tank even if he is great. And If he is very good, then no team is gonna
trade down they will just grab him.

If Sanders does end up with the Giants, he will be throwing to a 22-year-old All-Pro receiver, Malik Nabers for the next ten years....not good.

Rather than wait for a specific point in time to get serious, the Cowboys should be constantly looking for someone to come in and compete.

If the Cowboys are waiting for Dak's 4th contract year, for example, it will severely limit their options. What if it is a bad draft year for quarterbacks?

just stick to your board.
worry about 2-3yrs...in 2-3yrs.
STICK.
TO.
THE.
BOARD.
