A big dose of reality

Agree that 19 of 20 is over the top.

I also do think you realize that this young Atlanta team playing now is WAY better than that ranking.
They're not great ondefense, but theyve really pulled it together and the year progressed.

Not at all saying the Falcons are on that level, but The 2007 Giants defense was low ranked, but they jelled late and flat out dominated those playoffs.
Yep. The Falcon defense is not too bad. Ask Aaron the great! Green Bay has a good OL and that line had its hands full with the Falcon pressure.

Actually, it's quite common. The Giants win two Super Bowls that way without a single home game.
Rodgers only SB win came as a WC as well in 2010. I think Big Ben won one as a WC too. Much more common than you'd think.

Falcons ranked 25th in total defense.

28th in passing 17th in rushing. 26th in scoring giving up 25.4 points a game.

Cowboys only gave up 19.1points a game ranked 5th.

Ranked 14th overall. 26th in passing 1st in rushing

Of course. 6 straight championship games. 11 of 16 I believe. Division champs for 111 years in row. No NFL team has approached the run they are having over such a long time span. With no end in sight.

The Steelers have a record nearly equal to the Pats (including two SB champs) over the same time frame, are they a dynasty also? I guess we are just going to have to disagree on what makes a dynasty. Prior to 2014 the Pats didn't win a SB in ten years, that's parity which is what the NFL wants. The Cowboys won 3 in 4 years and all of a sudden there was a salary cap.

No they wouldn't. We would score at will as well.

Anyways, who cares if two of the most storied franchises got whooped? I wanted both of them to lose.
This.....

We would score at will as well and it would be a shootout with ATL every single time with the current teams constructed as is.

I kept looking at the thread title and wondering it it was a typo. Seems more like "A Big Dose of Negativity".

Hardly nearly the same:

11 conf champ. vs. 6
7 super bowls vs 3

Can't believe I'm defending the Pats, but this run is historic.

No worries, just a difference of opinion. I just don't think going ten years between winning a SB constitutes a dynasty, especially playing in arguably one of the worst divisions in football. Spygate and Deflategate don't help their perception much, hence the name Bill Belicheat.

They have more team speed than us on both sides of the ball and their OL is at least on par with ours. And their front 7 is better than ours,,not even close. We need 2 excellent drafts in 2017 and 2018 to get better.

Who exactly is/was saying that there was little work to do?

Having said that I spoke all season long about our schedule being soft. There was a lot of negativity around that sentiment. Shrug.
That being said, the Green Bay playoff game was lost on the offensive side of things IMO. We should of made the packers overdose on E.Elliot, forcing passes to Dez when Zeke could've stepped on their neck, turnovers changed the complexion of that playoff game(just venting). The coaches need to look hard at themselves this offseason. Aaron Rodgers could not of overcome a better game plan by the boys.
The Giants could not provide a defense against the Packers(Rodgers) the week before yet we are all down on our guys who played better than the #1 defense in the league. Can we improve? Yes but we are not horrible. If McClay does half of what he did last year in the draft we will be another force in the NFC not just the east.
AFC West fully on our schedule next season will provide a real challenge. Giants defense, Phillies defense, Skins offense, are all things we should be concerned about in 2017.
I personally look forward to the season ahead.

So then we shouldn't look at ATL & NE as legit contenders then right?

Stop it, The Cowboys easily beat GB if Rod wasn't so damn conservative. The Cowboys need a solid pass rusher and CB in this draft and they'll be good to go.

Does not even remotely reflect the Falcons defense playing right now.

Young (and older) players got healthy and players got further acclimated to the "Seattle system" implemented.

Can't disagree with any of that. A Pats fan friend actually chronicled the Brady playoff performances between Super Bowls and there were lots of choke jobs.

Hey bro, if you were the GM of the Falcons, what would you address in the offseason?
The Falcons ares still available in the annual CowboysZone Mel Kiper draft game if either of you guys are interested.
Trouty and I joined. he took the pats and I took the Lions.

The two most celebrated wins from this season were probably Green Bay and Pittsburgh.

Both got absolutely steamrolled yesterday. The NFL is horrible right now. Very little quality.

Let's not kid ourselves, there's a lot of work to be done.
The two most celebrated? They were both close to elimination early in the season. They got exposed.
