A cheap solution for the ILB spot...Takeo Spikes

Watching a few Niner games I saw that Takeo Spikes can still play and complete. He did well in their 3-4 last year and is a FA.

He can't be that expensive. Sign him to a 1-2 year deal and draft a Mckillop/Brinkley/Phillips/Holtzclaw in the draft and have him platoon with Takeo at the WILB spot..meanwhile there's some depth there and the drafted player doesn't get thrown to the wolves right away as a rookie. He could slowly settle into the position. By the time Spikes is gone he could be seasoned and ready to go full time.

The Steelers do this alot. They drafted Timmons in the first round a few years ago when they still had Foote and Farrior. Same with Woodley.

umm....no !

You obviously don't have a lot of knowledge about the English language....

Anyways what do you dislike about my mock?

Sorry for not slobbering over a slow lethargic NT that doesn't do anything other than occupy two blockers and his only move is the bull rush.

Any vet Will brought in will still have to learn this defense and his teammates play. You just can't plug and play. There's more to it than even talent, size, speed and instinct.

If they can't afford a vet Will then they'll have to find a way to keep Burnett and draft one.

Pretty good idea if he would come in cheap. You earned the Jr. GM hat for the week.

I really like Takeo Spikes as a cheap one or two year option. Last year he signed an inexpensive deal to try and prove himself. Kinda like a Ken Hamlin here in Dallas. The 49ers are trying to resign Spikes, which I always see as a good sign. His employer wants to keep him. The financials ball park is his agent wants a deal around 2-3 years for 7-10 Million. As reported on rotoworld. It looks as though it will take at least 2.5 Million / year to keep him.

The reason he left the Bills is he wanted to go to a contender. He didn't play well with the Eagles And the Eagles drafted well at LB making him expendable. Plus, personally I think his skills are better suited for 3-4. Which coincidently the Cowboys run.
