I was obvously using hyperbole to make my point...but there are plenty of media types calling for Jags/Giants upsets and frankly I think they are out to lunch.

There is a reason the Pats are 16-0 and the Boys 13-3....they are simply better...especially against these two wannabe's.

That is why they call them upsets the Pats and Cowboys are better teams but the better teams do not always win. Which is why I will be pacing the floor about an hour before game time.

The Patriots are going to force the Jaguars to put the football in David Gerrard's hands.

He will not be able to beat them.

I agree this is a game we should win because we have the better overall talent. None the less I'll be pacing and my Golden Retriever will be right behind me. :laugh1:

If they do then it will be a long day. However if Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor get it going Jacksonville could very well put up a good fight.

I agree....just can't see them putting up enough points to beat the Pats.

The Colts maybe....the Jags.....nah.

Jags were the 6th highest scoring team in the NFL this year. Hard to believe but they avg 25.7 points a game and 2nd in rushing with 149 a game. No doubt they are a long shot to beat the Pats but I do see some areas where Jacksonville matches up well with the Pats.

True.

I just don't think the Jagquars have enough horses to compete when they are on offense.

If you look at the Steelers game, the Jaguars defense didn't not play well. There were receivers that were wide open at times.

Big Ben's mobility is extremely overrated, he has been sacked the most in the NFL and the Jaguars were able to take advantage of that.

I think even if the Jaguars get the ball rolling as far as running, I still think they lose.

David Gerrard will be forced to make plays with his arm and he won't be able to do it on a consistent basis.

The Jags are going to win, precisely because Garrard knows how to manage a game. Last game, his 2 interceptions was an anomaly, and he ended up bringing the Jaguars back to victory. He threw what, like 3 interceptions the whole year. He is smart, and expect him to scramble and pick up some yardage as well, because he won't be trying to force the issue.

The reason the Patriots won the last few games is because the the opposing team, especially the QBs didn't know how to manage the game, and forced inerrant throws. When the QB took what the Patriots defense was giving them, they systematically drove down the field and scored. Fred Taylor is healthy as well, so their running back combination will eventually wear on the Patriots. The problem in the early seasons is teams felt as though they needed to attack on offense to match the Patriots scroing. That was a mistake, because the up-tempo suits their style. Teams started being more patient and they were effective.

If the Jags can slow the game down, and not turn the ball over they will win... Book it...

If they play that way vs the Pats you are right they will lose. If they can control the clock and play good defense they have a shot. Not a great shot but there are some interesting matchups problems that the Pats will have to win in this game and if they don't then this game could be closer than some are thinking

Jags MAY hold it close...til about halftime. After that, it'll be up to Belicheat what the final number will be.
