Lawrence Timmons
LaRon Landry
Reggie Nelson

If LT declares for the draft (he is a junior) we better draft him, he has sick potential. He is a bigger Ernie Sims

LaRon Landry, ive liked him for awhile now, and a couple months ago he would have been my #1 guy for FS but........

Reggie Nelson, a friend told me to watch this guy play, i did, and he is sick, not overly big, but hits like he is Roy Williams, and is a GREAT Cover man. Has great instincts, and is a playmaker.

Has Ed Reed/Sean Taylor type personality, and playmaking ability.

All this is great but, IMO as long as we have Zimmer our defense will never play up to it's potential, no matter who we draft.

Don't worry, Zimmer will be gone next year.

i'm sorry - who installed the 3-4 defense?
which head coach has a defensive fetish?
which head coach collects LB's?

zimmer is NOT calling the shots on D so why the "lemmings" keep calling for his head i'll just laugh cause it ignores the man who built this D.

everyone needs a scapegoat i guess.

Even if he isn't calling the shots, he's part of the problem. I think the problems start in practice, and who works with them in practice? Zimmer I would assume.

I like Landry out of LSU. I would be very happy if we drafted that guy.

But I think Ware is better.

Sorry, had to do it.

Its mandatory at Cowboyszone to mention the name merriman in every draft thread, regardless of the year.

I'd say he's like Steve Smith as a receiver + Dante Hall/Devon Hester as a returner with the potential to break every return + Santana Moss for big play ability. I won't guarantee that he'll pan out...NFL is not college, but based on what I've seen the last 4 years and how's developed at UTEP, especailly w/ a QB that can get him the ball quick and let him do his thing, he can make it.

He's got great hands. He's a quality return man as a PR or KR (despite what Bill might say about needing a bigger guy doing KR vs PR). He's FAST...VERY fast. 4.2 type fast. A track guy with hands. He's only 6' 180, but plays big. He will go across the middle. The only thing Sam Hurd has on him is 2" and 15lbs. But Higgins is more versitle because he can be a return man as well.

I'm a UTEP alum though, so I am heavily biased hehe

Any good free agent free safeties on the market at the end of this year? Or any college studs that could go in the first round? We'll probably end up with right around the 20th pick.

I know, how 'bout if we fire the ENTIRE coaching staff, including the "Walrus". Oh, I mean Tuna.

I have been hearing that for 5 years now.

BTW, that SL Carroll-Austin Westlake State Championship game was great

there's a lot of coaches who work with them in practice.

hell, the DEFENSE works with the defense in practice, correct? maybe we should shell it and start over.

if a team is lacking in leadership it starts at the leader, not the minions around the leader. when the defense starts getting bad is NOT when parcells will back up and turn it all over to zimmer, right? no, defense is HIS FREAKING BABY and i doubt very seriously he's sitting around and leaving it all to zimmer.

well, maybe the blame part.

zimmer's D's before parcells were a lot better than we're seeing now, correct? everyone said smoke/mirrors and yea, we still had a pass rush issue.

but the *only time* this defense ever quit was last week and maybe the last few weeks.

i put that on parcells. you can blame the middlemen if you want, i just disagree.

If we had a chance at drafting Reggie Nelson and passed on him I would cry.

Hes going to be the best DB to come out of this draft if he declares.

Reggie Nelson has Ed Reed written all over him. Hes going to be a great safety.

I like Landry better.

I also like the idea of Antoine Cason at CB or Paul Posluzny at LB (yeah, I know, we don't need a LB, but we do need fire).

I think we're looking OL in round 1 if we don't trade out of the 1st (which I expect).

Wouldn't mind Dwayne Jarrett of USC in the 1st, but don't see us going WR in 1.
