Note: My son is a former marine and I post this with the utmost respect for our military.

"Ball score and 30 years ago the Jones boys brought forth on this community, a new culture, conceived in hubris, and dedicated to the proposition that one man's ego and riches qualify him to be a football GM in the NFL.

Now we are engaged in the worst 25 year stretch of our team's history, testing whether this team, or any other team so mismanaged can actually be successful. We are met on a ball field of that struggle. We have come to dedicate a portion of that ball field to the long suffering Cowboy fans, as a final resting place for those who here gave their time, money, heart, and tax dollars that that team might live, succeed, and even flourish. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground. The brave fans, living and dead, who suffered here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The sports world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what Jones did here. It is for us the fans, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- to unceasingly call for the dismissal of a failed system and its GM that has shipwrecked our team -- the unwavering commitment to never buy tickets, merchandise, or financially support the man who defied the long suffering Cowboy fans in the face of a 25 season debacle doing things the same way while expecting different results -- that from these honored fans we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these fans shall not have suffered in vain -- that this franchise, under God, shall have a new birth of hope -- and that team of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from NFL relevance and glory".

Been a fan since the late 80’s
I’m in awe of you guys who’ve been around since the 60’s. Respect. Let’s hope we all get to see them win another SB in our lifetimes.

It seems like such a longshot to hope that head coach jones can lead us to another nfc championship game after waiting 24 years. We used to be the gold standard for nfl franchises. Now we are Stephan A. Smiths punchline and the jones boys deserve every bit of it.

My heroes are Staubach, Drew Pearson, Mel Renfro, and Too Tall Jones. I loved Jimmy Johnsons era too and jerry left football matters to those skilled in such things.

Two plus decades of false hope and fool's gold are all we have to show for Jerry's insistance on micro-managing every facet.

You are dead on point!

Very inspirational. Let’s send Jerry complementary tickets to Ford’s Theater.

Is this about 4 scores and 10 years ago we could have had a different head coach?

No, its about Jerrys post season futility over the past quarter of a century which transcends any head coach or group of players.
