T.O. this, and T.O. that.
Yet another thread about this polarizing player............

One of two things is going to happen, and nobody here has any say in the matter. This board seems to me to be about 65% - 35% in favor of him not being around...............

So, answer me this:

1. For all the die-hard "get rid of him" folks, if he indeed is on the roster come July, will you swallow hard and "get on board" and support the decision?

2. Or, for all you "he's gotta' stay, we need him folks", if he is dealt away and no longer around, will YOU support the decision and "get on board"?

Either way, there's gonna' be a lot of "see, told ya' so's" next season. If he's around, and things go the way they went this year, all the "get rid of him" folks will be armed-for-bear with "told ya' so". If he's gone, and things go the way they went this year, the "keep him" folks will say the same.

Conversely, if we DO improve without him, same thing.
If we DO improve WITH him, all the "we need him" folks will have the ammo.

I'm just curious, with all these strong opinions about this topic, where you will come down if the decision to keep him or not doesn't go your way........

In effect, this is not "another T.O. thread". This is a YOU, THE FAN thread.

If he stays and we do the same, do better, do worse I will not be sitting here blaming him for all the issues or giving him all the credit for us doing better.

If he goes and we do the same, do better, or do worse I will not be sitting here giving saying we did better entirely because Owens was gone or that we're no better, or worse, and it's all because we let Owens go.

In short I am completely unconcerned with rather he is or isnt here next year because I believe he is one of the smallest reasons for our issues the last couple of years and having him, or not having him, will not fix anything.

No matter what happens I will say I told you so and leave the burden up to everyone else to search through my posts for confirmation/repudiation.

I think the answer is played out on this site every day.

The majority will support success. If there is no success, there will be little support.

If he remains with the team then I expect him to go out and produce if the organization feels they can no longer deal with him then they need to release him and move on. There is no way other than rumor pieces in the media to say how the organization feels or the coaches feel about TO

Whatever we decide, I'll do like I always do and hope it works out for the best.

I think we should ditch him. But if we don't, of course I'll hope he flies right and we win a Superbowl with him.

I see where you're going with this, but I don't think those on either side have said, "I won't support this team if this does/doesn't happen." We all support the team, good or bad.

It'll be the same thing when it first came out that we were trying to sign him. Some opposed it and some were for it. When the ball hit the turf, everyone supported the team.

Like I've said before, I can argue both sides of this and have flip-flopped on the topic. I honestly don't care one way or the other. I just want it to be over with and move on regardless of the decision that's made.

If we win with or without Owens i could care less. He just needs to shut up during the season.

As with every team, all decisions made by the franchise are outside the control of its fanbase. Because of that, the question of how fans react to whether Owens stays or not is not really the question. Some are critical of him and will continue to be. Real fans will not change their allegience for their team because of players, coaches, owners, etc. So, the real question in this instance is whether those who are not critical of Owens can come to some sort of personal realization that his staying or leaving will not stop the criticism from those who are.

Its actually a good post.

Although I am pro TO. If he were gone then I wouldnt care much.
It would just mean that it didnt work.

BUT it didnt work for more reasons than just TO.
I think back to the rant on the sidelines "why did you bring me here?"

He was right then. He is right now.

Its a shame we cant get it right though.

We should be cashing in with this guy and instead we are discussing this nonsense.

So to answer your question. I just want to win. It comes above and beyond ANY player. But that doesnt mean that you dont try and win with the ones you have.

I really don't care if he stays/goes.

So in that respect, I cannot wait until the decision is made and we see epic wars between the two sides. It will be like TNT: We know drama!
