A draft pick for a CB?

Does anyone think it would be wise to offer another team say a 4th rd pick for a CB that could allow us some more depth. With Henry and TNew both ailing I'm more than concerned about that position.

Maybe we could find a team like the Rams or Saints that are struggling and have a good CB whose contract is up at the end of the year and they may not be able to resign. Someone like Mike McKenzie for the Saints.(not sure about his contract though)

It would be nice to have another quality CB.

I don't know but we could probably get a first or 2nd from Cinci for a linebacker. They said last night that they dressed 3 backers last night, and one got hurt.

No, keep the draft picks. Newman will be fine, and I think we're good enough to let Henry sit for a while. Jacques Reeves has been playing well in a starting role, so let's no panic.

i don't think you could get a cb as good as reeves for a 4th rnd pick. teams don't give up cb's till they are old and done

I don't think that makes much sense at all. Henry's only out for 2-4 weeks. It's still early on Newman, but if his plantar fascia is really OK and he gets that tendonitis under control, he's at the top of the depth chart. Reeves has come basically out of nowhere this year to be a very good CB (actually, Reeves performance looks like conclusive proof that pressure is a CBs best friend), and we've now got Jones and Oglesby fighting for time as the 4th CB.

So, we should be very happy with our top 3 corners. Do we really need to give up a draft pick in week 5 to upgrade the 4th CB? I don't think so.

That's about it.

We may find someone that can play corner better than Jones but Jones can also play some FS and has experience in the slot. Another corner may not have those attributes.

I think we pretty much have to rely on what we have until the offseason.

We are not the Deadskins

I realize we're not the deadskins. But we're one injury away from playing Nate Jones or Evan Oglesby alot. It just seems odd to me that we keep pumping high draft picks on the front 7 and we are going to rely on Jones and Oglesby to step up against the Pats. How long are we going to ignore the CB position?

Last thing I read was that Henry will probably miss the next 2 weeks. Unless they put TNew on Moss exclusively you can bet the Pats will find a way to match Moss up on Nate Jones. A match up I for one could live without.

so you'd rather bring in a newbie to our system as the answer?

If that doesn't have Carp's name written on it...

now that ellis is back and burnett is showing a sign of life, if we can get a decent pick in return, then we really oughtta consider trading a ohio state alumnus back to the state of ohio.

It's nice that we want something but who is the willing party to consumate the trade? Not only that, what type of player do you think we'll get for a 4th round pick

I don't think we're so deep at linebacker, especially running the defense we run, that we have LB's to just give away.

Assuming they would give us a good pick, who's to say the guy we draft would be better than Carp or Burn?

I don't think you give up any picks yet until we see how things play out in performance/injuries. Now if a situation popped up to where another team made a pitch/trade proposal knowing our situation, than you would have to consider the possibilty.

I would hope our 3rd/4th DB have some talent, are they shouldn't be on the team.
