Keep in mind that Ro McClain was a top ten pick. Lee would not command a 2nd rounder now since he's been injured most of the time. As for which LB was better? Ro McClain was. He was playing while Lee was nursing an injury.
thats a two way street my friend. Lee was playing while McClain was being booked for stupidity or playing his heart out while McClain couldnt scrape enough heart together to get on the field. nobody will give you a top 100 pick for McClain after his time in Oakland.

Rolando is the better athlete but you will NEVER. NEVER. See Lee quit a team.

And

Lee is as savy as they come X O wise.

I never said anything bad about Lee and I actually stated that Lee was the smarter player with a passion for playing this game. I only pointed out that Lee won't command a 2nd rounder these days because his been injured quite often to the point that someone would be crazy to offer a 2nd rounder for him.

I stated that Rolando is the better athletic and he has some good qualities that make him different from Lee - like he tends to sniff out a run better and is stronger at the point of attack. Sure he has that history of retiring early and everyone here knows that. But why do we keep reminding ourselves of curses rather than counting our blessings?

Ro McClain has shown up big time for this defense. Yet a lot of people here would rather judge him of his past rather than what essential qualities he brings to our defense. Thats fine with me. But its getting old.....

- I do not think Selvie can play the LDE. I think this is why the teams has been signing and trading for LDE. SF could run on his side whenever they wanted to. He's a nightmare in the run game.

- R.McClain is a violent player. We all remember the few hits he had on the RBs and on the QB, but he abused SF's offensive line. The difference in hand strength between McClain and Carter is so obvious on tape.

- I like J.J. Wilcox, but he does a lot of the same things as Barry Church. Pairing those together means TEs are going to be a problem every week.

- SF has a terrific offensive line coach. The way that SF can switch between zone-blocking to down-hill run blocking is really something to watch. Their offensive line is coached very well. Everyone has solid technique.

- I don't think Morris Claiborne played that bad of a game considering he missed a lot of TC, all of PS and was matched up with Michael Crabtree most of the day without safety help.

- Justin Durant got hurt celebrating.

- At this point in his career, Carter is a much better blitzer than anything else and I'm not trying to be negative about it. He does a really good job at getting to the quarterback as a blitzer. I would like DAL to use him more in 3rd and long situations.

Sorry did not read entire thread so prob a repeat but Selvie is nursing shoulder injury, he was good against run last season when healthy.
