A few discussion points

1. Will Arizona attempt to win, or are they already playing for a draft pick?

2. Green Bay’s pick is now down to #24. If that pick drops down to the 20-22 range I would say that’s better than we could have hoped for barring an injury to the QB.

3. Half of me (the part with a brain) says this Cowboys team is headed no where and we need to be sellers at the trade deadline and tank for draft position.

The other half (the part with the heart) says that some of our losses don’t look quite as bad at this point. Parity is alive and well. A few players coming back, plus maybe a single impactful trade might give this team a shot to sneak into the playoffs and pull a “Giants.”
This team will do nothing in the playoffs for 2 reasons that separate teams that do vs those that dont:

1. Piss poor defense
2. A QB that wilts under pressure

Question was partly answered with Murray not starting but is available.

No such thing as a good loss.

They will attempt to win. they will have more success than they have had. they have not scored 30 points yet. and they have had similar success against top 10ish defense to bottom feeding defenses. so not sure what to make of them. they seem to have hit stride in last 3 games. and that's bad news for us.

I expected the GB pick be between 28-32.

all of me says this cowboys team is headed no where. they will probably win the next two, against two of the worse offenses in the league. but then comes the gauntlets of good offenses that will just destroy our defense and our offense won't be able to keep up.

so I expect us to be 5-4-1 and fans get giddy and then a 7 game losing streak is a real possibility.
is your nickname Mr Optomism?

Tanking’s not an option in my book and never has been. So I like #3.

Dallas will most likely end up with a record of around .500. just good enough for their pick to be in the 15-19 range. So unless a player falls to them like CeeDee and Parsons did it's probably unlikely they land a real difference maker as their drafting has been getting worse and worse

1. If you think Arizona or any team that doesn’t have the #1 draft slot in the final week of the season is going to lie down for the Cowboys, you haven’t been paying attention since 1966….lol.

3. The Cowboys can sell bums like Tolbert, the DEs, the 1-year LBs, maybe Steele, and many of the DBs, but it’s stupid to sell quality players when you are a young team. Sellers are teams with big name vets on big salaries or guys they are going to lose to free agency anyway. The Cowboys should be smart buyers for defenders. If they can get an established star at 27 or 28 on a palatable contract, that’s better than gambling on a late round 1 draft pick. If they can get an average established vet for a mid to late pick, jump on it. Bringing in 2-3 veterans who improve the defense this year and will be here for awhile, makes it much easier to add 2-3 rookie starters and have a decent defense that can compete.

Im not trading away anyone on offense except a backup OLman that we don’t want to tender as a restricted free agent (Bass) or Steele if we think the younger T’s can provide a starter and a backup. I’d certainly be fine trading Tolbert and/or Schoonmaker.

Pickens should definitely be considered as a trade piece.

No NFL to has one a SB with Top paid WR's.

He’s played 4 years in the NFL at the highest level of his profession. He’s no bum.

Sorry, but bum in my mind means he should never be more than a backup. We had higher hopes. Trade the career backup who cannot get open against safeties, or let him walk in free agency this summer.
