We finally got to see McFadden in action and it was a bit lackluster. On his first two carries the offensive line and TE couldn't keep the LBs blocked and they held him to 0 yards. On the next drive he was able to get a nice gain on a stretch play. DMC only played two series. Hopefully he gets a little more work against Minnesota.

Right now you are a little worried about Randle's ability to pickup the blitz. He was called for holding on 3rd down which nullified a 1st down throw. He redeemed himself later in the game.
Weems was better this week. He and Collins struggled to pick up a stunt which resulted in Weeden getting hurt but they did a better job later in the game on another one. It looks like Weems and Collins just need more reps/experience.
I tried to focus a little more on Bishop this game and I thought he made a few plays.
It's been fun to watch the pass rush get after the QB. Gregory has been difficult to block with his speed. Something else I noticed was his awareness on zone read plays. When we play PHI, SEA, CAR, etc Gregory's experience and athleticism will be a nice asset.

Edwards is intriguing. He's quick and really long. When he plays low he can get a nice push with his leverage. I don't know if he has any pass rush moves besides speed. He has versatility to play both ends positions.

Vaughan was hard to watch. SF, with their disguises and blitzes, made it difficult but there were times when he had a decent pocket with some time, stared down a receiver, and was still late with the throw.

Looked like a good job by Randle bailing on the play action and picking up that blitzer. That guy was coming in way too fast. Unfortunately there was a second guy behind him, but Randle still bought the QB time.

Nice work.

Good analysis on Weems. I like how he and Collins corrected their technique on the stunt after it caused them problems the first time.

See Bleu, Randle did make the right pickup and block on the play that resulted in an INT.

His guy DID NOT get pressure on the QB. The 2nd guy coming in wasn't his fault.

That's fair. Thanks for posting the video. Let me put it to you this way. He, in no way shape or form, stoned that guy. & that's Shayne Skov.. a 1st year player.. Randle needs to be stopping that guy in his tracks. When the season starts, the Shane Skovs will turn into Bowman, Moseley, & Keuchly level rushers. That said, he did "alright". The jury is still out though imo. Pass pro is so incredibly important. We know what our linemen can do but that rb has got to effectively and efficiently stone the free blitzer..

The guy came so fast, Randle had to bail out of his role in the playaction fake. I get what you are saying, but it's only his first season with significant playing time.

Really good content, bro.

I really appreciate it and I'm sure that everyone else does as well.

Thank you for the work and taking the time to put this out here for us.

Like I said before... to me, you're much more than a boat... you're a big, Luxury Cruise Liner!

I know you can embed the gifs but that would not be a good idea since they are around ~20mb or so each. If I did, everyone's browser would crash. Is there a way to embed the html5 image?

I think their software is capable to show it as a video but it isn't enabled. Works that way on other sites.

Bro, come on. If thats Randle in there with Martin, Frederick, Leary, and Smith, he's probably completing the play action and not even needing to hit anyone.

The primary job in pass pro for a RB is to block the right guy even if it's not a great block. Just getting in the way will keep the QB from taking a hard hit. The team can live with a mediocre block as long as it slows down the free rusher to some extent.
