Awesome stuff, iab. I feel better about Weems. I'd still hate to see him starting any significant amount of time.

That's fair. Thanks for posting the video. Let me put it to you this way. He, in no way shape or form, stoned that guy. & that's Shayne Skov.. a 1st year player.. Randle needs to be stopping that guy in his tracks. When the season starts, the Shane Skovs will turn into Bowman, Moseley, & Keuchly level rushers. That said, he did "alright". The jury is still out though imo. Pass pro is so incredibly important. We know what our linemen can do but that rb has got to effectively and efficiently stone the free blitzer..
This is way off. You can't block a LB better than that. You use the word "stone" but it's not like Skov got any push so idk what you're talking about. You're not going to stop a guy cold when he tries to go around, rather than through.

Looks like textbook pass pro from Randle to me.

Without Foster stoning his assignment, there is no pocket. Notice Foster didn't just have the responsibility of looking for the free running blitzer, he was integrated in the offensive line's scheme of passing things off to the left. Randle will have to do this regularly when the starting bell sounds. I'm not convinced he will succeed. I don't trust him.

I'm glad some of you do. Good luck with that. I'll continue to speculate until proven otherwise.

I think their software is capable to show it as a video but it isn't enabled. Works that way on other sites.

I've mentioned it a few times and provided a link to a plugin. Hopefully they add the capability.

I just finished watching the 2nd Half (finally), these are my notes -

You who sucks compared to our OL? Our second team OL. I’m not ready to vote Weems off the island yet but it wouldn’t surprise me if it happened. I like Gibson as a PS guy and Bern is a great backup OG/C, but its painful to watch guys like Dill.

I’ve really come full circle on Jack Crawford. I didn’t think he didn’t anything last year and didn’t see the upside, but in this game he was quick, active and covered a lot of ground. In the first series he chased Kaepernick out of the pocket and would have gotten a sack on most NFL QBs.

For the other DTs, Bishop and Coleman looked good. Bishop was especially active and IMO will be a strong part of the rotation this year.

Wilber looked good at LB and I think he ends up the starter at SAM. Damien Wilson and Gotchkar looked good also, Wilson looks terrific for a rookie.

I want to see Byron Jones and Corey White as our FS’s and Wilcox and Church playing the SS.

I thought Ryan Russell would end up on the practice squad (after Hardy returns) but he looks like he is earning a roster spot. He was very active and got good pressure, not only on the sack he recorded but he also came close to getting another. He also had one of those plays where he lost his helmet but still chased the ball carrier without his helmet. He has the position flexibility that Marinelli likes as well.

Gregory is so quick and isn’t going to be a liability against the run. He had a sack where Bishop and Coleman flushed the QB out of the pocket but he also came close to getting a sack even on a play where the OL was flagged for holding him.

On the QB’s Vaughn was better than his stat line. But he would have to be, when I was checking ESPN before the TV broadcast he had a QB rating of FIVE at one point. Single digits.

I don’t think Showers has a roster spot locked but I would love to see him move Vaughn to the PS and save a roster spot by taking McCray’s ST spot.

For the RB’s McFadden looked OK and Randle looked better, but I still see both guys as great 3rd RBs that would be OK, not great, as part of a committee. I still think we trade for a RB and Dunbar is reportedly a terrific human being, but I think he plays elsewhere this season.

I still like Tim Scott for a spot on the Practice Squad.

Now that would be very interesting. The set of corners would then be Scandrick, Carr, and Claiborne.

Patmon also at CB, he seems to have improved from last year. Jones and Corey White would get time at CB also in some sets against big WRs, I'm not saying we should go with 4 CBs, just that I would like to see Jones and White take a lot of snaps at FS.

Jones will get a little play at safety, in package work...but he is WAY to valuable both in position at cornerback as well as medicine for cap relief in the immediate future at position. This kid should be top shelf as the position he was drafted for - cornerback.

I don't think its an either/or and don't think anything this season prevents him from starting at CB in the future. At this point he is somewhere between the 3rd and 5th best CB on the team but he might very well be the best FS on the team. If it shakes out like that he could spend most of his time at FS and the rest at CB but still start at CB next season.

That last Bishop gif saw the LB fill the wrong hole. He should have filled on Staley somehow but instead he just stacks behind Bishop. That allows STaley to create the lane he did and the RB to go wide. He also cut off Brinkley's pursuit who was trying to sift down the line and should have been free. There was a whole lot of that that evening.

I firmly believe Marinelli set them up. He slants the DL to the weakside every first down. When the weakside end crashes inside, the OLB has to set an edge and the mike needs to fill leaving the SAM as the free man. They mucked that up every time I think.

Oh, he's already talented as a cornerback and needs the carpet time. His forte is individual coverage...and the team will play a lot of just that.
