no Robert Meachem???...if we pass this guy...will be a mistake
For what it's worth, Matt Mosley had a piece for ESPN about Meachem, which included a quote from Jeff Ireland speaking very highly of Meachem. He said something along the lines of, "He's everything you'd want in a WR."

it's an incomplete list, Dallas has talked to Samson Satele, they worked out Anthony Spencer at his Pro Day, Melvin Bullit is not on there etc.

Did the players we drafted in 2006 show up on this list last year or were we sneaky?

FS in RD1. Hamlin was a draft decoy who got a measely 1yr deal offered to him. Essentially he's here to start on opening day and be a backup should one of our guys go down during the season, all while making a run for his payday on another team, next year. First Jerry's making comments about us being good at the position and that we'll be working from within to fix the problems, then he's signing Hamlin to a 1yr deal, and during all of this the rumor mill is working overtime trying to sell the fact that JuJo is on the trade block, diverting all the attention to the offensive side of the ball and a ripe for the picking Oklahoma RB that Jerry just has to be in love with the idea of putting a star on his helmet. It's not AP, it's Landry. We're going to swoop up and grab Landry in round 1 and Jerry's going to get exactly who he wants.

*My Official Draft Day Prediction*

You should write for soap operas. Talk about drama and storylines.

I'd be all for Revis at 22. Not only would he contribute right away as a nickel guy, but he would play a large role in the return game as well.

And, he would also be Henry's backup, which might happen sooner than later.

I think Hamlin's here to stay. If he just wanted someone who would fill in the spot, he would have taken one of the lesser known FA's out there. Hamlin's playing for an extension as well as the big bucks from another team.

Dallas was hesitant to sign him long term because of his apparent drop of production from his injury. Signing him to a one year deal limits the risk and the cap hit instead of having to drop him and pay out the yang should he have gotten a long term contract.

Besides, safeties are one of the easier positions to draft for. We could afford to wait a year and still be fine.

I'd love to think we have a window into the minds of our scouting department. Unfortunately, I don't think we can read much into most of this "intel." I think we talk to many players as a matter of due diligence. Here's a list from last draft:

A lot of names, one hit (Pat Watkins). Not to say we weren't/aren't willing to draft a lot of guys on these lists- I just think its all about slotting versus the cost/opportunity to maneuver.

these have not been posted yet

Pitt CB Darrelle Revis
Akron OG Andy Alleman
Missouri Western OT Allen Barbre
Ohio State RB Antonio Pittman
Ohio State WR Anthony Gonzalez
Miami S Brandon Merriweather

I don't think Gonzalez will be there when we pick in round 2, but if he was there I would not have a problem picking him.

no ILB:( I was getting my hopes up for Willis at 22 if he was still there
I don't even want to think about Willis at 22...I have pimped alot of players, but he is my favorite player in this draft. Check that...favorite player that we at least have a shot at.
