I forgot how much john madden loved him some Nate Newton. He made Nate a household name

If Madden watched the show he had to of been freaked out when he saw Nate walking up to Deion's house looking like he had terminal cancer.

Don't matter. It won back then, it will win now.

How many teams can you name that are "winning" with that kind of football now? The Chiefs are winning with moderate numbers from Alex Smith, good defense and the running of Charles but they'll get bounced in the playoffs if Smith doesn't produce. Aikman never passed for more than 3445 yards and 23 TD's in any of the Cowboys 3 SB winning seasons. In 93 and 95 he totaled 31 TD passes. Joe Flacco put up comparable numbers last season but had to put the ball up in the playoffs and produce for the Ravens to win it all. During Flacco's 4 postseason games he was on pace for well over 4000 yards and 44 TD's in a 16 game season.

Seattle is no "power" football team in the mode of the 90's Cowboys. They're winning because of Russell Wilson who provides a duel threat. Until he showed up Seattle was an average team who didn't finish better than 7-9 with Marshawn Lynch in beast mode. Wilson has already matched Aikman's career high of 23 TD's and has over 400 rushing yards. Take him out of the lineup and Seattle wouldn't be the team they are not even close. Like all teams today they're dependent on their QB.

It takes two to tango. Emmitt made that line and the line made Emmitt. I don't care who the best RB is in history, just glad we had the one with the most rushing yards in history. That team is the reason I still watch and have ultra passion for today, wouldn't trade any of them for whoever thinks was better not on that team.

They were a joy to watch. It never was a question if we would win....it was a question by how much!

They showed the huge holes Emmitt ran through but he came out of a lot of piles and slithered through many a defender while maintaining his balance. He scored plenty of TD's where he had to run over and drag some defenders to get in. His OL was great but so was he. His will was unmatched not many backs could stay on the field and run effectively with a separated shoulder.

Emmitt was the GOAT. There is NO debate. Emmitt was not exciting to watch. So what? He was the most effective RB in NFL history. Where other RBs danced around in the backfield for minimal or loss of yardage plays, emmitt almost every time found a hole and gained positive yardage to put his team in a better down and distance.

Like I said in the other thread, that drive in SB XXVIII was ALL Emmitt. He broke several tackles on that drive. Specifically the TD to end the drive was ALL Emmitt. He gets hit in the backfield. Go watch the video on YouTube. And in the show they acted like the line mauled buffalo's defense and hurt them on that drive. Emmitt pounded into Daryl Talley and hurt Talleys shoulder. Bruce Smith, who Emmitt runs right through on one play on that drive, hurt his hand on the screen pass to Moose trying to put a hit on Aikman.

I don't care what anybody says Emmitt smith is the reason we won those 3 SBs

I think emmitts highlight tape is every bit as impressive as Barry Sanders. But how many kids click on Emmitts highlight tape vs Barry's cause that's all people have ever said about them? I was mainly saying that's kind of people's general thoughts about Emmitt. Not my personal view

These posts right here need to be repeated over and over to the Emmitt was only great because of his oline bs that gets spewed out constantly. That oline wasn't very great before Emmitt or when Emmitt was hurt the few times that he was or during the 93 holdout. You saw the struggles his replacements had running behind that line.

I always hear 'well if Barry Sanders ran behind that line he would have ran for 2500 yards' and I say no he wouldn't have because he didn't always run where he was supposed to. I believe he would have had the same career he had with the Lions if he ran behind that Cowboys oline for this reason.

Emmitt was strong enough, smart enough and quick enough to find the holes to run through and that is what made him truly special.

Nine of Seattle's 11 wins this season have come with Lynch gaining less than 100 yards. In the blowout win over Minn 3 weeks ago Lynch gained 54 yards averaging only 3.2 a carry. The following week in the blowout win over NO Lynch gained only 45 yards averaging a mere 2.5 a carry and you think Seattle is winning with power football?

Great point, but I believe Seattle is winning with defense. If the Cowboys had that kind of 'D; they'd have 10 or 11 wins by now.

Seattle is playing very well defensively which has clearly been part of their success but they still wouldn't be where they're at without the play of Wilson. He's currently the best young QB in the game. The Seahawks were just another team until he came along. He's made a tremendous impact on their franchise and barring injury Seattle will be representing the NFC in the SB if he stays healthy. No one is going to beat Seattle at home in the playoffs where Wilson is undefeated. Part of playing good defense is having an offense with an efficient QB and Wilson's passer rating for the season is 106.5. He helps keep their offense on the field and their defense off it which keeps their defense fresh.

You were proven dead wrong with numbers that don't lie which is why you didn't respond back yesterday. Why are you responding now because the Bears and Cowboys had success running the ball on each other last night? LOL Josh McCown had 348 yards passing and 4 TD's last night. Nuff said!

LOL. I didn't respond yesterday because I was working the whole night.

As I've said many, many times you have to be able to run the ball AND stop the run to be consistently successful. There's always games when teams play the likes of the Cowboys who have no defense. They could've won that game either way they played it.

You never came back with anything to try and prove me wrong last night because you had nothing. Your last reply a few minutes ago was in reference to last nights game. LOL Prior to last nights game you said you win the way the Cowboys won in the 90's with power football and here you are trying to put a different spin on it…ha! The game is different today you don't win championships in this era by running the ball all day and playing great defense. A QB has to be very productive in todays game.

We do disagree but don't fire back saying you proved me wrong when you didn't even respond to the numbers I posted on Seattle a team you claimed was winning with power football.
